I find it baffling that we live in a world where pumping oil from the middle east, shipping it all the way to east Asia to make it plastic, then shipping it to America to serve as containers in order to replace the "natural container" aka the peel of fruits, is for some reason, a lot easier than getting a chop board and a knife and going chop chop in the kitchen.

It is a beautiful selection of produce though. Not bad prices too, compared to Hood River, OR. If you take about 4- 5 of those Japanese eggplants and cut the ends off, cut the fat ones in half long ways, and saute them in about 1/4- 1/3 cup of olive oil till med brown and soft (about 15 min?) then take out, saute a finely diced onion in the same oil till VERY soft, then add eggplant back, pour in a large can of crushed tomatoes or about 6/7 sliced fresh ones, then salt to taste and let simmer for about 20 30 min you will have a treat. You can eat with rice, or flatbread, or both. I meant to tell you that very same recipe with the hearts of the artichokes when you were cooking artichokes, I felt a little sorry for you, but I didn't get around to it. Peel ALL of the leaves and fuzzy off, (raw) clean the heart well, and cut in halves or quarters before the browning. SO good. This is one of the ways our people from Greece do it.

When you walk into American supermarkets/department stores, the first thing that hits you is the overwhelming smell of petrochemical plastics. Yuk! I'm surprised to see so many weird, intl veggies. For sûre there’s difference in prices cos when you buy from popular souk in Morocco or wherever they re not paying a single penny for the taxes rent electricity plus the staff working etc etc but in large and big supermarket they have lot expenses and bills to pay so it’s normal if it’s more expensive

Market in Morocco marché is different from the souk which is always in countryside. Marché in city is more colourful more organised and u find more variety also If u go marjan carrefour u find more varieties.

I love this store that you visited, but I would love if you take us to an Asian market that sells fresh fish like in Morocco also please take us to Amish stores in your area maybe we can visit if we like them. They sell same products for waaay cheaper( can be expired or close to that but they have items not expiring) I would love to see any cheap convenient store in your area.
