Another video is up! This one has been a requested video for some time now and I have finally gotten around to it. In this video I will discuss how much it takes to own a GTR 33 in the US and how much it costs modify. The includes upgrading the spoiler components, brake upgrades on the GTR R33, all the way to performance mods including the cost of U.P. Garage boost up package to the screaming HKS 2.8L stroker kit AKA " the RB28 ". Now prices have quickly changed over the past years, this is just how much it cost me to get to where I am currently at on this GODZILLA project making one of the most power reliable GTR 33 V-spec in North America USA.

RHD SPECIALTIES are a great set of people. They now have 2 stores. The first in SEA-TAC area (Kent WA) and the second in Arizona.

Yea i personally had a great experience! It was cool cause when i bought mine was in their original shop and they were working on their new bigger building in kent at the time. So i was able to check it out real quick before their doors opened

As the old saying is “gotta pay to play” you’re doing it right. These prices are why so many people are mad and “hate” certain cars. My gtr is needing a tune again. Off to intec she will be going.

Haha yes indeed! I hear you, just got the 33 done at UP just for my ECU to go dead in my 32.... You getting a boost up tune than while your at it?

@@Vspec_Zilla Gotta love almost 30-year-old cars! I have never been to UP garage, but I hear fantastic things. INTEC did the tune before my buddy that owned the R32 prior to me and told him "hey, you should get these specific injectors and it will run a whole ton better". The old injectors were some literally bored-out Tacoma injectors. Now it's got some nice HKS ones I believe. The 32 is running APEXI FC and INTEC is an OG tuner of Apexi. Super stoked to get it in there.

Heck yea that's awesome man! Yea U.P. I highly recommend for Nissan specific 90's car. They been in the game a long while! But yea intec is great too, have a few buddies that go there. That's awesome, maybe spring we can hit up some events!

@@Vspec_Zilla I have a feeling ill be hitting up several shops for advice on separate things in the future. I hopefully will have the car here around the tail end of march and or into April. Talked with some shipping companies and they even told me to wait as the high demand is coming after the holidays for all the new 22' model cars being delivered and wait for the shit storm to settle, get a better rate, and faster ship. Plus I don't need the car right this second.....although I am drooling waiting.

I’m looking at getting one of these for my girl and I, love the Build its sweet man. I’m going to get rid of the twin set up and convert to rwd for drifting purposes lol

Thank you! Yea they are pretty sweet! But if you plan on drifting it you should just get a gtst rear wheel drive and just throw a gtr kit if you want the complete look. You will save a ton more money. That's what I did with my 32 anyway. But hey, either way you have my vote! Lol

I bought my 1997 R33 GTR directly from Japan last month for 60K shipped to nearest US port. Cost is not including state taxes and about 2K in import duty which will probably be about 66K total when all said and done. Mine came with tons of mods including upgraded HKS turbos and tons of nismo aero parts. But the most important thing is the car had a 3.5 auction grade with a dealer refresh on top of that, never been in an accident which pretty much most of the Skyline GTR's imported to the US now would have an R grade and selling for more than what I paid for mine. Although a bit more than 2020 prices when I first started looking for them, it would cost me more if I had built the car to the same standard as it is sitting now. Can't wait to get it.

Heck yea congrats! That is awesome, you will love it! Which port are you importing it to? I did the same with my 32 back in 2014, back than anyways was a pain to get it and to register it. Kept getting the run around. I know it's easier now being a little more common thankfully. Can't wait till you get brother! Congrats again

@@Vspec_Zilla Thanks man. The car is going to the midwest so the closest port would be NY. Not sure of the process to register the car but it's been so long since these cars have been legal in the US, so they shouldn't be too surprised when filing paper work for it now and probably established some SOP. When you registered your 32, what kind of runaround where they giving you?

That is true, that is exciting though. Well if you ever take it to the pnw let me know too lol it was the customs paperwork not stamped properly, my county doesn't require smog test but the port county did, and than I had to get it inspected by state patrol which kept cancelling. After that it seemed like the DMV didn't know what they were doing and couldn't grasp the vin digits didn't have 11 numbers or something like that. Can't remember exactly, it has been a minute lol

Thank you! That's the thing that I noticed with the modern market for the JDM cars. If it's the right mods it seems people will pay more not like the old muscle cars. As long as it's not riced out haha but I could be wrong of course.
