Hi. My name is Warren Burton and I recently went to Costa Rica and got some fun waves. Here is my edited video with music. Enjoy. Its a beautiful place.
Pura Vida! Hell yea, I went to Costa Rica for my first time this January. Best trip of my life! I went down to Jaco and Playa Hermosa on the Pacific side and surfed there all week. Man do I miss Costa Rica already. Great video by the way, Warren. It really makes me miss it more. Can't wait to go back!
I'm a 30 resident of CR and I loved your video. You summed up the experience and variety very well. I'm going to send this on to prepare los delicados del norte for their trip down here. Good job...jim
I love this video man..I keep on watchin' it all the time.. i'm planning to go to costa rica soon and this makes me feel like to go straight away... excellent..and the voice of John fogerty is a perfect soundtrack for the video...great. I can't wait to leave Itly and go back to the ocean cause my heart is there...
it is just south of manzanillo on the caribbean side - go to the parking along the beach as far as you can go and then walk through the forest a bit until you see the big eroded rock structure sticking out the ocean and the beach is there. it is a reef break which can break hard on the rocks at low tide so be careful. and there are some nice beaches for bodyboarding - playa cocles is a good one with fun waves. pura vida warren
thanks for the compliment. yes, the bodyboarding shots - secret spot are by manzanillo, at a great spot. it is a beautiful place costa rica, loved it. to me, the caribbean side was better than the pacific side. try the cable rides in the rainforest, heard it is really fun!
About mountain places, u SHOULD visit "Monteverde" which is an amazing tropical forest and its really close from the "Arenal Volcano" which u SHOULD also visit because it erupts red-orange lava EVERY day and u could see it descending through the sides of the volcano. U can also visit the "Braulio Carrillo National Park", where u can travel in a "teleferico" (idk how to say it in english) and pass through the Rain Forest, its also great. If u have some more questions, just ask me!!! Good Luck!!!
u must go to the beaches there - so beautiful, especially puerto viejo side (not so tourist like). the 2nd song is by deep forest and the song is savanna dance. enjoy!
thank you for the compliment - its a beautiful place and deserves the best opinion. i just tried to capture what i felt when i was there. i met some really cool people who helped me a lot and i am forever thankful to silvio and david.
i live in costa rica ( i was born there). its the best place for waves to surf or just to relax in the sand. there are only 2 seasons : winter and summer, during winter it doesnt snow, it justs rain for being in a trpoical spot so the best is in summer.
Ok, look Costa Rica is too small so you can visit beach and city in the same day (if u want to), so in that case the nearest beach is called Jacó. There u can stay in a hotel that is called "Best Western Jacó Hotel Beach", which is the best of that zone. I can also recommend you the beaches of Guanacaste, where the ocean is really calmly. For me in Guanacaste the best beaches are Tamarindo, Flamingo, Conchal, Hermosa and Papayayo.
No problem... Mmm thats a hard question u know cuz we dont really have a huge city in the beaches, but maybe Jacó in Puntarenas and Tamarindo in Guanacaste, cuz those r the cities that have a lot of restaurants, discos, bars, etc, so u can really have fun overthere!!!
sweet vid man, looks like you scored some sweet waves and some sweet ganja, if your ever looking for another good experience like that you should stop by barbados for a couple days, you'd love it.
yeah that salsa brava is a sick wave, didnt get it at its best but cant wait to go there again, i preferred the caribbean side to the pacific side, got better waves there.
not too much of a secret spot but i wouldnt have known if my friend didnt show me. its south of puerto viejo in a place called manzanillo. u have to walk about a mile once parked at the lagoon. real fun waves over reef.
Did you make this video or just post it? I wanted to travel to Salsa Brava then up to Limon ... over to Jaco ... just like this video. It would be a killer trip!!
I'm happy you like my country but you missed Guanacate Beaches at north pacific side they are great!!! you should go, Because The caribbean coast is kind of rainy. If ypu want to surf you should go to pavones south pacific, dominical tamarindo, roca bruja... there are so many, ur welcome to go back!
guys, check out videos of "playa Carmen",playa teresa and playa Carrillo which are my favorite surfing spots. Im from costa rica living in the north pole(Minnesota)hehhehheeh but i keep Costa Rica in my heart. Love to be tico, greates feeling ever. Can't wait to get back to surfing this year. puravida juandi
Dude... we have 2 beaches with the same name: Manzanillo, but the one that appears on the video, definitevely is located at caribbean side, NOT pacific side. Near to the place that you are planning visit, exist a lot of beaches with greats waves. I recomend you "Santa Teresa", "El Carmen" y "Mal País". Regards, Chalo
Warren... Dude, I want to practice bodyboarding at the secret spot It is near to Gandoca or Manzanillo? I usually practice bodyboarding at Hermosa Beach i the pacific side but the caribbean side is awesome not only for the beaches, the people are the coolest in the country!!! Pura Vida, Chalo
Ok! Yeah u can visit both countries very easy! There r buses that u can take that will take u to Panama or Nicaragua. Idk wat is the cost of the ticket or where u can take those buses, but u may ask someone here when u arrive! U can also rent a car and visit both countries by yourself. By the way how is it that u learn Spanish???
WUUUUUUUUU I love my fuckin country! you missed lots of surf spots to visit, but you caught some nice ones, salsa brava when it grows 14 or 15 ft its gnarlier than Teahupoo..
well, you can either go in the high season or the low season.... the high season, (dec-june) is really really fucking hot outside, adding to the fact that costa rica is an extremely humid place. In the high season the prices are up, and its a lot more crowded, because of the hot weather. im from oregon, so i personally like the low season... not too hot.. lower prices... and less people.... so the main differences of the two are weather you like hot weather and a crowd, or warm and uncrowded.
i dunno depends where are you coming if to Guanacaste in the caribean or pacific beaches.also hotels dont know either check on internet monteverde hotels or arenal hotels.(those arent on beahces the hotels.
Cool vid and great music! Looks like you caught some amazing waves! Hope you don't mind that I've shared it with the Puerto Viejo community on the Photos and Blogs page of the local community site Puerto Viejo Satellite (Google it).
IDK y but no one has ask this question and i think everybody wonders.....HOWS THAT COSTA RICAN WEED DUDE !?!?!?!?!? PLZ TELL ME !!!! Im going there in august 09 thx
Ok! I forgot to give u and advice: wherever u go u have to be REALLY CAREFULL with your belongs (camera, wallet, money, etc) because there r some persons that take advantage of the tourists! Now I assume that u r going to bring US Dollars right? Well u can pay like in 90% of the restaurants, hotels, etc with those dollars, but in case u need "Colones", please exchange them in a Bank because the stores of money exchange will give u less money than it really is. I hope u enjoy, Good Luck!!!
@jtlachappelle Jesus christ rage much he made a video about his experience not yours. not to be a dick but your going to get stereotyped regardless if your mexican rather than a surfer. This is a great video and even if he blazed alittle bit it was part of his trip, which honestly would make the trip a whole lot more fun :D great video man great stuff!
wow you are way off. that was my local costa rican friend with the weed, i was just filming the way it is there. i didnt even smoke it. i am actually south african and therefore not a gringo. clueless, partying, drugged out...come on man i am not any of thsoe, i went there by myself, no partying, just to get waves and explore that beautiful place, stoner i think not. i cant beleive you came to this conclusion after watching my video.
