This idea of going to Costa Rica to see the wonders of nature is fine for most people, but not for me. When I retired in Maryland I quickly realized I had no reason to stay there and put up the 5 months a year when it was too cold to do anything outside. So I moved to Saint Augustine, FL to escape the winter and to surround myself with the local history. Saint Augustine, like Costa Rica, is a tourist area. We get about 5 million visitors each year and have all the things that tourists want: restaurants, tours, and zip lines, etc. So, having had these things, I want to move to Costa Rica to experience a politer slower culture. In America, there is a prevalent narcissism where everyone is focused on improving their own situation so intensely that they fail to take notice of the people around them. I have a few good years left and don't want to spend in a country like that. PURA VIDA❤

Osa Peninsula is the shit if you love nature, I don't believe the jungle there has ever been cut over, one of the last Jaguar area's, you will see true beauty and some of the most beautiful animals on or planet. Go to Puerto Jimenez and stay for a bit, dude I went to a local rodeo a few years back it was so cool, PEACE!!!

"No laws when you are drinking Claws." Great perspective and personal experience from this video. That is the neat thing about Costa Rica, there are so many different outdoor activities. We stayed in San Gerado de Dota recently and the main attraction there is the quetzal bird. Some birders have gone there five times and have only spent an hour on the beach one day. Whatever floats your boat. I love trout fishing the Savegre River at 7,000ft elevation-no guide or four figure boat charter needed. One of our tips is to fly into San Jose or Liberia and leave from the other airport (although SJO roundtrip is almost always going to be cheaper.) Yes, food! Escalante and Escazu and other parts of San Jose are the best restaurant scene in the country. Lastly, just because you don't have a week or more doesn't mean you can't enjoy Costa Rica. One can stay in say Heredia and that is a great base for some day trip like Poas Volcano. Now I would not stay there for a week, but I literally spent only 48 hours there in early May and had a great time.

The Caribbean side of CR is a joy. Totally different feel. Great food, very chill, beautiful. The locals are amazing there. Don't be out too late at night, and stay out of trouble there. You will have a great time at the beaches, eating, sightseeing, and relaxing. ❤

Another spot on informational video. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip me and my son had with you 2 years ago. Loved absorbing the culture and the lifestyle. Everything was so much fun, the nature was stunning, and it was very well organized. When I return I'll be working with you again. The advice, and service were incredible! I'll always recommend you and your offerings. Having realistic expectations and doing some research to know what you are getting into prior to arriving makes a BIG difference. Thank you for sharing as always!
