I go 4-5 times per year and budget around $500 each shop. Stock up on meat, frozen goods, veg, bread, pantry essentials and toiletries. We have worked out a good system and essentially buy the same items each trip. Family of 4 with 2 kids under 5.
Thank you for the tour! Even though I've always lived at least 3 - 4 hours away from a Costco, I bought a membership last year as a trial. I've only been able to visit a store three times in the past year (while on holidays/away for work) and some of the bargains I've nabbed have been terrific - it's paid for the membership. You just have to be careful and know your unit prices in the regular supermarkets, as buying in bulk does NOT always mean it's less expensive. Costco also has a great range of organic, dairy-free and gluten-free products, for those who need it. Living so far away from a store, I've never been able to take advantage of chilled foods, meats or frozen products - which is unfortunate! My favourite products at Costco are the rotisserie chickens (they're a fabulous price - eat for lunch and dinner that day while you're away!), the mixed nuts, bulk chocolate chips for baking, and bulk spices/seasoning mixes. I managed to score a six pack of passata on my last visit also, for a very good price. :) I'd also take advantage of the bulk beef mince if I lived closer.
I keep a Costco membership for party foods . I don’t shop at Costco no need to now with my children grown. But it’s definitely a great store for bargains and large families.
Yes I don't find I need it as much as before. I have recommended to a few of my clients and they are loving it! Especially those with large families. It's still fun though! I am glad I renewed for this year... but not sure moving forward? X

@@zestygirl I'm ok 👌 luv just maintaining the best I can it's been a difficult sad couple of months 😔 the loss of my beautiful Buster took a toll on me so I adopted a Big Tuxedo Cat his name is Mannix he's the cat 🙀 from hell 🔥 but I love him anyways even though he's a hellion and likes to bite everything and everyone and destroy nice stuff 😮 I felt he was just the right cat for me because I like challenges and broken pets and people 😢 seem to be my thing these days haha 🤣😻🐕🤯💔❤️🩹👋🙏🙋🤷 anyway he was returned backed to the shelter 5 times until now 🎉 I will never abandon him or take him back he just needs extra time and attention and retrained and taught better habits they just locked him up in a cage all day and everyone who fostered him abused him, anyways the second I took him home and let him go outside and explore everything and experience being a cat 🙀 He started doing remarkably well and mellowed out lots and now he really loves hunting for things and chases bugs and frogs and lizards 🦎 haha 😂 😁✌🏻anyhow I honestly believe he's going to be the best cat ever he just needed a Chance and a better place to live 🤗 well . enough about me how is Michelle doing? Oh I have missed Costco. It's just hubby and me at home now and with Costco being over an hour away it's just not been worth making the trip. If it wasn't absolutely pouring rain here you would have inspired me to make the trip today 🙂
We love Costco. So much in fact that when they opened their first store in Perth we hot there at 230am to line up. I know silly right that's what my husband said but just a few hours later the line was wrapped twice around the building! Their meat is a good buy and if course their hot chooks. You have to know your prices because sometimes Coles or Woolies will have it for cheaper. But overall have had lots of good deals at Costco and they sell things that other supermarkets don't. Love your videos, you do a good job.
I have been three times totally overwhelming for me 😅now if I had 8 kids at home I would do a Bi monthly shop for bulk items now there is three of us it would just not be worth it
For me, looking at the high-end items wasn't helpful. A family with 4 young children in this economic climate can not afford them. I would have liked more concentration on the food and its cost rather than it being at the tail end of the video. The quick scan around of the food didn't give an indication of how much could be saved by buying in bulk. This video would not induce me to buy a membership.
