The Costco bike rack was recalled, so I got a new replacement. Very good effort on the video, thank you. I noticed that at 6.12 location on the video the strap is touching/rubbing the spoke. I wonder this type of strapping can damage the spokes. When the car is in movement or going over a pothole, the strap may put pressure on the spoke. And weaken it. Has this occurred to anyone.
I made that mistake and bought the Sam’s one thinking it was the same thing since it came up when I searched for e-bike racks. It is NOT for e-bikes. The wheel wells won’t fit the tires even if it would hold the bike. I’m so bummed that Costco doesn’t have these anymore!
You got to keep on top of tightening the hold down straps/ binders. Lost one, phone the importer/ supplier… surprise, surprise no parts to purchase. Pity.
They should clearly advertise the maximum wheel base the rack can handle. I bought one and had to take it back to Costco, my bike was a 52 inch wheel base. Why Kilimanjaro made the rack so short is beyond me when it can handle heavy bikes. To me that is a design error that reduces their market potential.
i had same issue with one of my bikes although I was able to turn handle bars 180 degrees thus shortening the wheel bas by about 1 1/2 inches or so which made it useable
I'm wondering if anyone else has a class I receiver like me... I am having difficulty finding a 1.25-2" hitch receiver adapter that has holes like up with the ebike carrier tension pin.
