Heyyyy lovelies, in this video I am sharing a few rainy days and bringing you to COSTCO with me to sign up after 3 years of not having a card. The annual membership for a personal account is £33.00 This is the same price as 3 years ago. However, they now have an executive account that not only allows you in at the same time as trade .. but they will refund the difference if, after a year, you have not earned enough cash back to warrant having an executive account. This card cost £75.00. They will refund the difference after 12 months if I do not use it enough. I bought the executive card as it was only 10am and I would not have even been allowed in the store until 11am with the personal card. Ha and also bought it for the ability to go early in future.
I feel like this video was a little ranty like maybe ... I was having an off week and everything seemed to be wrong. However, I know I am very lucky to have a plumbed in bathroom and so lucky to have a roof over my head so in reality it really is a temporary feeling. Everything will always be okay.
I am bringing you with me to the range although I did get a little distracted by Christmas. I am way too obsessed.

As a 60 year old woman, I totally understand what you were saying about technology…. Thank God for my adult kids, they’ve become my tech department… I was literally yelling at you, dog treats!! Lol So sorry about your plumbing problems, it’s the worst!!! Squeeze George for me!!! 🥰🥰🥰

haaaaa honestly ... it is very clear just how fuzzy my brain was this day .. I could'nt even remember what I went out for at one point. Lol Yeh I even had to phone my Mums bank in Ireland when they threatened to remove staff .. there is no way my Mum could do everything via machine. Luckily there were mass protests haaaaaaa and they decided to scrap their plans.

I am in the USA, I am almost 70 and wow have I seen so many Technological Changes! I love technology and can honestly say that I am very good at it! I have neighbors who come to me to fix their phones, car systems and computer setup. I guess that I am just defiant enough that I learn how to do things that I am supposed to be too old to learn! Lol! BRING IT ON ❤❤❤

Same. I'm 70. I belong to a ladies chorus and many are in their 80s and have issues with just online banking to check balances. I rarely go to my bank except for extra ledgers to keep tract of expenses and balances. I pay everything online except my electric bill. I send a paper check I refuse to pay an extra $10 for online service fee😡 ugh

My dad is 75, FINALLY i got him to use a cell phone but that's all he wanted was an old-fashioned flip phone. Recently he had the same thing with his bank. So I convinced him to get an android phone. I love 12 hours car drive away so I went and stayed with my parents for 2 weeks and taught them all about their new phones and made them use them for the 2 weeks I was there. Thank God my Dad can now take care of all of his business with banking, VA, order groceries, medication refills, etc. But it was hard for them and me!

I love costco so much! As a tall person, the trolleys make me happy 😂 we used to buy our meat from costco, take it home, freeze it in portions so nothing goes to waste, amazing. And the costco burgers are delicious, they've ruined any other pre made beef burgers for us 😂❤ ETA, Top tip: if a light is making your camera footage flicker, increase the frame rate on the camera until the flicker stops. Love ya!! ❤️

Yes, most car bulbs are easy to replace - as long as it's not raining. lol "Temporary" exactly! You can be having a great day, and then something happens and is so upsetting and ruins your day. Don't allow a small thing - a small percentage of your 24 hours ruin the larger portion of what was a great day. Something we all need to work on. Love to you all, Claire!

The bank situation is exactly the same in Australia. Certainly not helpful for older folk who don't have credit card or online banking.

I'd lose the carpet, and give those boards time to completely dry before installing a new carpet! Mold and mildew are a very real concern. Black mold is dangerous to everyone. If one of you is prone to chest and/or breathing problems (especially such a small dog) it could prove lethal. I'm sorry to sound like I'm promoting scare tactics, Claire, but I've wound up in hospital twice because of black mold. It's really no joke and very dangerous.

The same things happen to us whenever we get things done, it usually takes 3 trips to get it even right. It took 2 times just to put in a new toilet. Fear not you are not alone. In one of our houses the people used garden hose to connect the dishwasher, needless to say we had a lovely flood in half our house.

Firstly I have to say that forest walk looks absolutely magical, and I still can’t get over how tiny George is, he’s just so bloody cute I just want to squish him. Have never been to a Costco store, we don’t have one anywhere near us unfortunately. Our dog loves the dried chicken feet but not so keen on the pig ears. Same here in Australia, dogs must be secured in the car by law, but in all honesty we don’t secure our Deef. He’s usually either in the van or the back of the Hummer lol. Speaking of Christmas…. Urrgghhhh I hate that they have Halloween and Christmas decorations out at the same time!! Let’s get one holiday over with before they next one comes out please. Oh the bathroom drama how absolutely annoying. I definitely think it should be the plumbers insurance that should be paying for all the damage not your insurance. I would check that out. It’s his fault all the damage has occurred so surely he should be liable to have all the damage fixed. I hope you get it sorted, and who knows you may even get your new carpet out of it. ohhhhh I am soo so happy you are enjoying the vlogs hunee .. that means so much :) the bathroom is all totally fixed now and I am way more confident to shower and not worry anymore but it has left us with more jobs than we needed ... I swear it is one thing after another as you know ! haaaaa Our kitchen floors are so badly damaged and no I am like wait ... I didnt mean to spend a million quid this year but here I am haaaaaaaa I need to get quotes for a new floor cos it is really really bad and I am actually worried about the sub floor now :( but on a happy note lol I have chosen the bathroom colour and I will get to work on it soon x

Love to see how similar Costco is! I haven't been to mine for months as it's always closed when I have the time to stop there or vice versa... The bathroom nightmare sound awful. I got a new one from my landlord almost 3 years ago and they still have 2 cracked tiles to fix but those are behind the loo so there are no leaks, thank Whoever!

My Luna (she's a chiweenie) is even more picky than your George! I had to learn how to make chicken stew for dogs and that's all she'll eat! We tried so many disentangle foods before i switched to the stew, and she just won't eat. We tried to outlast her, but she literally lost a pound in a month by refusing to eat anything and all she did was cry (she only weighted 12 pounds anyway so that was too much!) I just couldn't go on any longer! Give him what he'll eat. You both are happier for it😊 no guilt! You are a great dog mom!

Hi Claire great video, I know what you mean about the banks we had 4 banks on our high street now we have none, think there's a pop up back once a week in the library 🤷‍♀️, we are quite lucky we don't really need it but so many older people will go back to keeping money in there houses in turn will lead to more brake ins 😢. Didnt know we have costco or home sense never heard of them but i agree the range is the place to be for anything now adays absolutley love it there , i think its something every home owner hoes through as i had do many problems with my 1st home and put new kitchen, bathroom and roof on then moved ❤i so wish i hadnt i really miss my little house even with all its little faults but it was mine and that made it special xx

Awww my nearest Cosco is 2 1/4 hours drive from me 😒 The range is an hour and 1/4 drive away but we have gone there many times in the past ( Love that shop ). Love George's new bed for the car ( Bless him )🥰. We used to give our dog pig's ears but was recommended by the vets to stop as they contain a lot of fat.A couple of our dogs are rescues and 1 of them has pancreatitis and diabetes so I have to really watch what I give the dogs.He is on diabetic dog food and he has 2 injections a day. Sadly we lost on of our dogs 4 weeks ago 😭 He was 11. We did have 4 but now down to 2 as we also lost one a few years ago.He was 12.😭 As far as technology I feel that they will have everything done online before long. Hey Claire it is ok to rant and rave on occasions 👍I am sure a lot of us would do the same in your situation 😄so glad the shower is sorted now 👍🥰

Oh yes! We do give Luna weird treats. She didn't like pig ears. But she LOVES chicken feet, turkey tendons, 100% pizzles, chicken jerky. She turns her nose up at traditional dog biscuits.

It’s the same here in Australia 🇦🇺 banks shutting everywhere, they are even removing ATMs as well. As you said as you get older (63) it gets harder as the world seems to aimed at the younger generation. It costs us $60 AU a year for a Costco card. It’s also law in Australia to have your Dog strapped in with a harness and seatbelts.

This is a really good video and so many people can relate to what you are feeling. Claire, I absolutely know what you are going through. I had an older house when I lived in Cincinnati. The plumbing was old, and the drains were all gunky. We were constantly pouring drain cleaner down them. I started a fund for a new bathroom. About a year and a half later, I had a contractor redo the bathroom, which gave him access to all of the drains except the kitchen. Two years later, I got a new kitchen! Two years after that, I moved! 😂 Someone else is enjoying the fruits of my savings and doing without. But the house sold because it had updated bath and kitchen and new drains. 😂 Good bye 1950's pink bath tile and 1970's orange kitchen tile! P.S. I lived with that tile for 20 years!😂

I try and use cash all the time, fed up of being told how to shop, don’t use the wallet on my phone at all. Love Costco, just realised could get a card, happy days. I have similar bed in back of van for Skye, works well 💚

We don’t have Costco in S.A. I wish we did. I would love to shop there🤗. It’s so interesting hearing how different countries are…. Law for strapping your dog in…wow. Half the people here don’t even strap their children in😢 and nothing gets done. I totally understand your pain of starting something and there always being problems. I mean can’t they do the job properly the first time? And one job leads to another, and another and another😂 very frustrating. I love George..he has such a personality ❤️

wow Chantal .. yeh I will be honest .. I have always strapped George in but I only found out a few months back it's illegal not to and I was happy about that. wow it's scary to imagine children not secure either :( Honestly ... it's like all we wanted was a new bathroom and what we got was the need for a whole paint job in the living room and new carpets on top of the expense. :( it really is frustrating but again .. I try to remember that it wont be a forever problem .. one can hope haaaaaaaa x so glad you love George .. xxxx

Love your videos, even if you are “in a mood”. I experienced a similar bathroom leak. After a foot surgery I was sitting g in my living room and looked up at the ceiling to see a spot. It was a pipe behind the toilet. Luckily my son-in-law was able to fox. A plumber would have been a couple thousand dollars, I’m sure. Our Costco membership here in the US are more expensive than yours. And watching the driving…😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫…I kept thinking you were going to get in a crash. Thank you for sharing!! 🤗

If I had my time again I would 100% study plumbing/electrics and plastering because I feel like that is where all of our money goes as adults haaaaaa so cool to have your son in law to get the job done :) haaaaaa I knew the driving might look scary especially all of the roundabouts and driving on the other side lol

I am glad you have the dog law, where dog has to be tethered. I’m in US and have 4 big dogs. I always tether them. You never know what could happen. Better safe than sorry!❤ I also love how your brain works. We could be twins! I’m pretty sure you are a Leo. I too get so frustrated, when jobs are not completed properly and you have to hurry up and wait, for any conclusion. Towards the end of the video, I had an AHA moment. When yo said you get so frustrated, because you are not in control, BOOM, there it was. Amen, all will be ok!!

Murphey's Law is picking on yall right now, don't worry he usually moves on. There is always a light, just gotta find it sometimes. No one minds a rant every once in a while, you just gotta let it go for your sake. George is so adorable. I think it is cool your car tells you about your brake lights. It isn't something that is checked all the time here and more often than not it is a police officer who tells you after he pulls you over for it lol

Ohhhhhh yes ... our car is actually old but it has one of those computers that tells you everything. We actually need a new car ASAPPPPP because they have just exapnded the ultra low emission zone out from London and now we are paying through the nose to drive anywhere because our car does not meet requirements .. sorry for the essy there haaaaa and it is so true. This too will pass and all will be well with the world :) xxxxx

Oh boy ... water leaks are never EVER fun 😡 like you, I noticed a spot on the wall n when I went to touch it ... ugh finger went right thru it🤬 sooo cut open the wall n a teeny tiny pinhole, no probs, break out the solder n torch n fixed it. Nope ... next day another area. Sooo we ended up to have to do a total replumb of whole house!! 😢 not a happy camper. Get rid of the carpet now cause it'll make mold grow!! Let it air out, the floor that is. And your ceiling in ur living room will dry out faster too. Good luck n have fun redecorating 😊 oh n when you were driving around, I was getting dizzy from all them round abouts lol 😅 we don't have much of them over here lol hope George liked his new bed n treats😎

You are 100% correct on the world getting smaller as get older due to technology. I loathe banks. We have credit unions in the US, where the people (members) are nonprofit financial institution. I love Costo too! They have good meats, especially ribs. Yum We get our salmon at Costco each week. And I spend waaay to much each week. Where you walk George is just beautiful! Oh no, sorry for your plumbing troubles. Just awful. Better things are on the horizon for you!

ohhhh Barb yes yes Credit Unions. We do have them here but there are very few ... very rare to belong to a credit Union. In Ireland though ... its very common to see one in every town but not here :( I would love to have a credit union account but there is not one near me for many many miles :( I will need to try their meats for sure they look sooo good :)

I tend to only give natural treats to my dogs they adore pigs ears, cow hooves, chicken feet, rabbit ears as they are the least smelly. The inside treats like trachea etc tend to be really stinky. Mine love whitebait too but they are pongy too. When did the dog car law come in ? Never heard that before but it is a great idea.

The Dog law for cars came in 1988 ... I had to Google. However, they have just updated the law to include a £1,000 fine if caught xxx I think I am too nervous to give George the pigs ears they are literally the same size as his head haaaaaaaaaaa

I have the big car seat the extra big one because it’s for Eddie and Bella, Bella loved it right off because she’s so little it allows her to see out the window, Eddie didn’t like it at first but loves it now, but I use a separate seat belt for him because he’s in n out of the car seat. 🤣

oh that sounds perfect .. sadly George hates the car I am truly hoping he will learn to love it I guess we do not use it enough for journeys longer than an hour x After 2 hours he is always sick :(

We don't have Costco over here (we don't have much tbh lol, but we're getting better), but I think all cash and carrys are the same re showing prices ex VAT. If nothing else it helps the business owner when doing their accounts and calculating their VAT to have it split up. I'm sorry to say, I do change my own lights in my car lol, although for only £9 I'd be tempted to let them do it. Love the mirror next to the lamp you turned on. And hey, we all need to offload sometime you know. x

So much understand what you’re saying! Technology is not always a wonderful thing!! Honestly over there you pay the price the item is??? Here in the U.S. our pay checks are taxed then the money we get that was taxed …we have to pay more taxes for anything we buy🫤so our already taxed money is continuously taxed…then at the end of the year we file taxes for all the already taxed money and hope we don’t have to pay more tax but are able to get some returned. I guess throwing the tea in the harbor in 1773 because of Englands taxation was for naught. Lol. History buffs don’t come for me I know there was more to it but we’re speaking on taxes. I’m so sorry your new bath is causing such problems but I know once all is done and fine it will be gorgeous!!! Tell George he’s looking dapper as always handsome boy!!!❤❤❤

yes yes totally ... if you see a price ... that IS THE PRICE !!! I have seen so many videos on USA taxes etc ... that show how you pay tax at the checkout ... but it just isnt a thing anywhere else in the world. COSTCO is the exception to that rule lol I mean we pay a lot of tax here .. around 20% so its high ... equally we do not do our own taxes ... It is not a thing. Our taxes just come out direct from our pay .. so we never see it ... it gets paid direct to tax office. The only reason we would do our own taxes here is if we are self employed .. like me lol I do my own taxes. There are so many fascinating differences between us ayy xxxx Tipping is another ... you would rarely TIP here

@@athomewithclaire Yes, tipping here is how most actually survive. They pay the servers in restaurants low wages and it’s their tips that keep them going. Some make all of them split their tips and to me that’s unfair…if a waitress waits on a table of 8 and is tipped really well she or he should be allowed to keep it because she ran her legs off for them. In such cases though depending on the number at the table the gratuity is usually automatically added to the bill. Because some would lay 5.00 down and believe that to be enough. Honestly though I believe this place has gone mad and I’m wondering some days if it’s worth the risk to step outside lol.

Is Thurrock like a suburb of London then? I live in an area just outside of Milwaukee and the surrounding area cities are sort of called suburbs to Milwaukee even though they are separate cities with their own mayors and police and fire services

heyyyy lovely ... so Thurrock is in Essex and Essex is a county just outside London. quite literally borders with London. Essex is broken up in to lots of areas ... lots and lots of areas. Thurrock is just one of those. and yes ...... same thing we have a mayor of Thurrock etc ..... own police etc ... very very similar. Just smaller way way smaller than there haaaaaaa

Oh Darling a home and a vehicle you never own it owns you. My favorite motto is..This to shall pass. I absolutely hate pig ears for dog treats. I have sliced my feet open walking barefoot in the summer time on them. I do like the cow ears for treats for Duke and he loves to chew on them. I do not buy any with dye stamped into them though. We have Costco here.$50.00 a year membership. I have never gone there and spent under $600.00 a trip so I only now go with a friend who has a membership once every 4 years. Yes i do replace all my lights on my vehicles myself as they charge over $100.00 a hour for mechanical services here. Crazy expensive. I sure as hell don't make a hundred dollars a hour. I guess im in the wrong profession. Lol So sorry to hear about your bathroom leak. I have a very low B.S. tolerance. That would anoy me as well. The world is changing way to fast with this technology. I absolutely hate it. I don't use that H word very often in my vocabulary. Claire I absolutely love this video ❤ Darling I would of bought that cable knit pumpkin ❤ I have some cable knit sweaters I no longer wear. I will definitely get my sewing machine out and make some pumpkins out of them. George I love you ❤ You are absolutely gorgeous ❤

Costco is dangerous, that's why the trolleys are so big, to fit everything in you never knew you needed. Pigs ears / feet all the way!! Omg your leak! Get rid of carpet with those boards!!

Or not. Not all dogs like them, and some dogs have waterproof coats (ie the hair that covers their body). And dogs survived for centuries without coats.

I only said that cause some dogs are adorable in little coats. Wasn't shaming anyone, my dog hated clothes but she was old and needed them in the winter.

I have lived in Seattle area for the last 40 or so years. Seattle is the birthplace of Costco, Microsoft and Amazon. And Starbucks! Is there a relationship or a coincidence? I am sure it is a world-domination plot! (Favorite game of Bill Gates when he was a kid ) Anyway, I am a veteran of Costco. When I go to Costco, I know I will spend $200.00 USD. Even if I only have one thing on my list. On the issue of home remodeling issues: get your floor dried out, replace the carpet, maybe with a rug that can be washed. Unless your insurance company is a lot more forgIving than mine, suck it up and pay for the repairs yourself. Here is a straw l. Everybody has difficulty getting good help here in the US. Sounds like it has spread to others. Bathroom repairs always cost twice as much as you expected, and also take 4 times as long. Sorry. I can remember when they told us that computers were going to make our lives much easier. Yeah, right.

Hun I worked in a pet food store please dont give your pup pig ears or raw hide some dogs cant digest them they can get caught in their tummys and he could end up needing surgery to remove it
