Last four months have been crazy, split up with my fiancé, moved house and felt I was on the edge. Turned it around, got a sick new job and moving forward. That's the message I get from this track; struggle makes a man. This should have more views!!!!

Shame this lad never made it big, one of the best modern day lyricists the land has ever had, wonder does he even realise how good he is/was

'Best Irish rapper' 'Best rapper in Dublin' 'Irelands top rapper' ...all true! Clearly and by a fair distance too! BUT here's the thing, why do we feel the need to distinguish origin? (I've been guilty of this too) , the more I've emersed meself in giving "Irish rap" a fair ear the more obvious its become that Costello is a phenomenal emcee, an intelligent deep wordsmith with flawless delivery on every barr! On point with every beat that you know he lives and breathes hip hop! There's a worldwide quality to his tracks imo , strong Dublin accent doesnt matter that,hard to understand? Only if you arent listening! Those who know and feel real hip hop understand! Lets look at the Irish scene....bitd we had Scary Eire , RiRa, DJ Mek....pioneers on this island (respect due) ... in more recent times we've had Class A's with Redzer, Terawrizt and other contributors like Nugget, Siyo, Nucentz, Steenson, RapThor ... some fantastic tunes from Tera & Redzer both great at what they do, props due for the dfi scene! ...further south we have Nash and cru from Cork (shout outs to all the Rebel mc's doing their thing). Across the border and divide we have Jun Tzu with serious hard hitting material (in a hostile lanscape to his credit) ...back in Dublin and closer to home we've had Costellos stable mates at Working Class , Lunatic (r.i.p.) G.I. , Lethal Dialect , Jambo etc and worthy mention to amazing vocalist Willa Lee!! ....also the lads at On The Low doing their thing too! ....many others out their too .... now each to their own n all that but seriously if you dont recognize that this lad Costello is out ahead of the pack I'd be amazed! Almost 40yrs a hip hop b boy rap fan pusher & diciple I can honestly say Costello is up there with the Gurus , the Big Ls , the Lost boys, the Pharcydes, the smif & westerns, the CL smooths, the Nas 's etc etc etc ..... His style & sound very reminiscent of the oldschool NY sounds but with an infusion of Irish flavour. The UK have their own unique sound and style and all its branches and sub genrea and they do it brilliantly and as biased as this might sound I still put our Irish style & sound above it for appeal. Thats just my few cents worth, the opinion of a middle aged mouthpiece 😁 "You'll be sick of this food for thought if you're mentally anorexic..." The lad is a fookin lyrical genius! One of the best on a global level!

I've shared it on my Facebook, this takes me back to growing up in the nineties; listening to The Pharcyde and Hieroglyphics/souls of mischief. Brings that soulful beat back, with lyrics that make you think. Every now and then, you find a track that makes you feel happy to be alive, every three months or so. Not many people say this; but thanks for sharing this brother. Costello got respect from me ever since the Representatives.

Have listened to this tune on repeat for awhile now. Whenever I feel down I listen to it and reflect this life is a mindfuck sometimes like you say stick with your cards and wear your heart on your sleeve.
