Magne has always underlined in poetic lyrics how important is not to be afraid of living, we have to find our way inside and then follow it without hesitation. His songs are hymns to life, never give up and act. Let's also think of the wonderful Lifelines or his True North songs. Morten is the unique vocalist for his songs. I listened to Magne once and all the magic atmosphere faded away. A-ha songs want Morten's voice. A-ha are Pål, Magne and Morten for ever❤
'All the time it took to be your best...is soon forgotten' refocuses you onto more important aspects of life. A-ha's music has often saved me from times of despair when all is lost and no one else cares. They have earned our love and respect.
I love this song so much, everything about it touches me on another level. One of my all time favorites. It also saved me from myself when I was so deep into depression I could not see clearly. So much power in those lyrics!!!
Won't stop saying it's rediscovering A-ha era! Their songs always were beyond their times! Pure gold for the ones who know where to dig for it! ❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you A-ha ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks to Magne, the author of this rare pearl, and Morten, the only singer able to give the right vibe to the song. Truly I never get tired of listening to A-ha, every day. Pop music breath.
Solid gold. Lyrically way ahead of its time. Now it appears that there's a significant minority who love their 'cosy prison' life. One of my other favorites of theirs (and in my all time Top 100) tracks is 'The Swing of Things' - lyrically very similar. A band way ahead of its time in all aspects (take 'Train of Thought' a look at a businessman's life and revealing it's not all that glamourous - remember this was the 'Wall Street' era!!!)
They stopped Releasing in the States. I guess they are focusing on USA again since they have toured There This year. But I guess you live in the States? Are All albums on Spotify There? Or whatever plattform your listen to?
@@ImperialMJG No, the record label in the US lost interest in them after they refused to be promoted as a boyband and they only wanted songs like Take On Me.
2006 was before we really saw it in full swing but im suprised how well this song appears to capture the mental confines that comes with the 'age of narcissism'.
LYRICS : Take a moment if you dare Catch yourself a breath of air There's another life out there And you should try it Dead ends hide on every street Look before you place your feet Cracks and fissures keep the beat And you're inside it Every thought you never dared to think Every mood you always knew would sink Every line you spoke out loud in a jest All the time you took to be your best Soon forgotten The sun must never touch your skin It could expose the dark within You're paranoid about the paranoia And panic hits without a sign You worry about it all the time Every perfect moment is a hidden warning ‘Cause everything makes your pretty head spin And nagging thoughts are starting to sink in With everything this way it's better to forget Than end up in a place with something to regret Your transatlantic shopping sprees Your health forever guarantees Organic -bio-life's a breeze In cosy prisons But hiding out in a salad bar Isn't gonna get you far And bottled wine is vinegar Tomorrow Everything around here makes your pretty head spin Its piling up high, you're back where you begin Moments you’ve tried so hard to forget Are promising to be the best one's yet Yeah, every time you shut your eyes it appears Every time you trace your steps back here None of your convictions have the same old ring No doubt you found a place for everything In cosy prisons So if you're careful You won't get hurt But if your careful all the time Then what's it worth

Hmmm … interesting. I’ve been suffering with agonizing chronic back pain for over 20 years, and for me, listening to a-ha is one of the things I continue to *LIVE* for. I’m constantly telling myself that I can’t kill myself yet because I *NEED* to listen to whichever a-ha album I’m in the mood for one more time!
Bella adatta a colonna sonora grandi a ha evoluzione musicale continua per loro penso che siano l unici rimasti degli anni attanta in continuo evoluzione musicale . Bello non annoiano mai stupiscono sempre.!😉
When this video was recorded, Magne's sons were teenagers! I guess the boy *might* be his nephew or something, but I think it's more likely just a coincidence (the curly hair, too!). They might have chosen a boy who looked like Magne knowing they were going to do that particular shot?
It's a fantastic song but IMO it was a port choice for a single. In the UK we had Analogue released and a lot of buzz around it, then it died off. Celice should have been released with this as a B Side, the music scene was a perfect fit for it at the time as indy and rock were more popular.
son to Chris Martin too from cold play (Magne equal mind to Chris ) (The video was made in place when the water was dirty in London and its recicle . I know my men A-ha they feel things in 2006 .and since 2006 nobody see has awarded a prize to Chris Martin from Morten Harket for Speed of Sound. and me I know Onion dog because I spoke with her master.
