The reason why Shao isnt that good is because he lacks good mids. Being plus doesnt mean anything when all the opponent has to do is mash down 1 on you. This is the difference between Shaos axless form and Johnny Cage. Johnny has a mid that can check you for mashing down 1. That leads to a combo. Shaos back 1 is a single 12 frame hit that isnt hit confirmable. Its more for wiff punishing than anything. With Shao, youre trading good mids for Mix. Even Rewind said he was Ass because of this.
