The floral display by your cooking stove would look good, with twisty willow branches and minimal eucalyptus for a spot of green would be less apt to cause any flare-ups in that corner. The wall sparkle ..brilliant move. P.S. hope you are feeling better each day.
I agree with ALL your initial thoughts its gorgeous for starters ! I got REAL WOOD CABINET ENVY!!! 😉However, the breadboards are enough with the ones by the stove; the rest are too much wood. If you must use them I would use them in a row in the wall where you hanged the shelf or on the window bay stacked from biggest to smallest vertically ! The brooms I would throw in the cleaning closet for the proper holiday or place them in a large cylinder vase or decorative earthenware or clay bucket container. A bay leaf, eucalyptus or other leaf dried wreath will look better than that plastic one by the door. Loved you coffee station ! 🥰
Your kitchen looks fantastic! One change that would really put the design up a notch is putting a colorful backsplash behind the stove. If you can't do tiles, maybe a nice peel and stick in a tile design?
Wow. You did an excellent makeover! It's definitely got the cottagecore vibe. I'm working on my cottagecore kitchen, too. Got some ideas from you too! Great job you did. Looks beautiful and warm. 🎉
The layered boards on the wall look GREAT! Love the cutting boards. THE KITCHEN LOOKS GREAT! I would suggest hanging way more baskets on the beam. Fill it up. I love your style. Girl after my own heart.
Hi Sisters! Love the idea of a "portable" Coffee Bar/Bakers Rack. As we all know a Coffee/Drink Bar is all the rage right now. AND that Hand spackle technique...ummmmm, ingenious. I've wanting a handy man (woman) for stuff like this but I can do that! Excited to see more! 😊 Blessings from Iowa, Lauri
Как мило, что можно, оказывается, самостоятельно выэрезать лобзиком красивые досочки! Спасибо за идеи! Мне очень понравилось, как Вы украсили свой дом! Очень уютно и радует глаз!❤❤❤❤❤
It’s a nice kitchen. Some small suggestions: the bakers rack is a little pale, it would be great to pull it out with a darker color, like park bench green by Fusion. Then since you have so much wood, paint just the window trim over the sink the same green which would pull that color across the room and add some relief from all wood beams and cabinets.
Love your cottage kitchen! The K-cups in the spice rack is genius! You have a beautiful niche right over your wine rack. Maybe hang some beautiful plates up there? You can create loops on your brooms using jute rope or wire and then attach command hooks to your fridge so you could hang them.
Have a tip for arranging how you want items to be placed on your walls, trace the items (bread boards for your case) onto parchment paper big enough to capture the silhouette of the object, cut out the shape and arrange the parchment paper on the wall to help you establish a design that works with the space on the wall.
I love the walls, I think I would have removed the wallpaper. Your window box would look awesome with some crocks with live herbs and maybe a lavender topiary Or olive topiary in the corner. The bread boards- I think I would have continued them (smaller ones) above the small cabinet- Love them. everything else is dreamy. Oh one more thing. I would replace the swag lavender with the brooms maybe? You are giving me ideas, thanks!
Beautiful! 😍 I was thinking when you were trying to decide what to over by the stove wall, you could come down further and and add a long rod with the hooks on it to hang copper pots and breadboards. Add a long shelf above it to put the mason jars on. Might be able to find one already made like that or just diy one. Just an idea. 🤷🏼♀️ It would fill that space then you could maybe add a big picture of a cottage scene or something where you have that smaller shelf. I see them at thrift stores all the time. Hope that helps. 😊 Love the idea of hanging the herbs above the window! ❤️ Look forward to seeing more videos!
...I really like the baker's rack , and I was thinking you might use a tray to corral the sugar, etc. I have a similar set up on an antique dresser, in my kitchen and all the " stuff " is in a tray ,easily accessible and looks much neater. :) I was curious about the finish on the walls, do you need to paint it, (?) How will it hold up with possible kitchen grease, etc (?). Looks cool, I just was wondering.
I was curious about it too. I’ve lived with it for over a year now and it hasn’t discolored or should any signs of wear. I thought I would have to fix stains and stuff but so far, I haven’t had anything like that. If there’s an issue I’ll make sure to update! But so far, so good! Looks the same as when I did it.
Is the idea of painting your fridge to a dark modernized version of a vintage color off the table? Like dark teal, olive green, dark grey, or even black?? Just ideas I like the bread board being layered on the wall but if they feel too clutter-y would putting the smaller ones on the section of wall where your 3 pictures are work?
Really turned out nice, did you ever paint walls or just leave the plaster? I think the coffee bar looks great, but also think it would look great over where your self in, that looks Abita bear on the counter..you could put plants on the place where your coffee bar is instead..would bring the outside in more..FYI, your kitchen window could use a clean..😊.... The RU-vid channel Pine and Prospect....her husband built a cutting board rack from scrap wood to display the boards on the wall. Perhaps that may be something you'd be interested in.
New subscriber and LOVE everything you’ve done. I may have to try that joint compound on my foyer. Is there a weird smell that comes off the joint compound? Hubs has a thing about smells. Did you paint the joint compound?
Hey there, I guess it slightly has a smell to it from the bucket. But when it dries you can’t smell anything! (It doesn’t bother me though.) and I didn’t paint it! I thought I would, but I liked the color of it and didn’t think it was worth the hassle just to paint it a similar color! Been great so far, about a year and a half! And thank you!!! ☺️
Hi I am new to your channel and I want to say I did like you're after kitchen but I have two suggestions. okay ...they are my personal opinion but you asked .. and I have to say the witch brooms have to go and the eucalyptus above your door has to go everything else is pretty and fine. Remember this is my personal opinion which doesn't mean what you like and did is wrong.i do love the cutting boards and I made a few of my own too but they are sitting in the garage unpainted because I didn't know what color to use. I love the colors you use. Can you tell me what color stains you used 😉
Love all the makeover you created. Looking forward to your next. However i am a bit confused with the title DIY sisters. Are there 2 of you? Forgive me if i missed something.😅
Thats fate that a house with such unique cabinets would end up belonging to the daughter of a dendrologist. Literally never knew that type of wood or dendrologists were a thing until today.
@@DIYsisters_ oh my goodness! I can't believe you replied so quickly! 😍 Yes! That's the one. Thank you! Love what you did with your kitchen, it's absolutely precious. Love the idea of the hanging herbs, I think I will try to incorporate that somehow and the brooms on the fridge! Love it! I'm going to try some very strong magnets on the top of the fridge and hang the brooms on fishing line.
What I want to know is, where is the you in this project ? Cinnamon brooms are not something you just toy with. Did you do research on the witchy vibe? What no dried garlic?
I am in all the sweat and effort it took to plaster those walls with my own two hands! 🤣 And I’m in the joy it brings me every morning when I make my cup of coffee and look out that glorious window; I get to feel like I’m in a little old timey cottage in the countryside surrounded by beautiful flowers and greeted with the comforting smell of cinnamon. ☀️
Yeah my bad! I didn’t really explain that. One it’s just easier to cover it and not take it off. But the real reason is because it’s a 100 year old home, behind the wall paper is just center-match. It’s the old way they built a house, just wood framing everywhere and wallpaper on top of it. So I would have to put up dry wall or some other type of wall covering!
I always take off any wallpaper! And why wouldn't you? With the right materials, is not that hard of a job, usually. 'Witchy vibes'... how unpleasant is the sound of that?! Makes me dislike the whole project. Spoils it for me. Like you would use 'terrorist vibes'. That has such a negative connotation, that the whole atmosphere would be spoiled. Minus the broom the end result looks nice. But yeah, the bad connotation does linger. No idea, why dried flowers would fall in this stupid vibe thing. Tons of people have them, without misnaming them into something harmful.
I used to be a Witch till I found out the religion is a lie , the God and Goddess are just an illusion your worshiping satan. Please repent find Jesus before your soul winds up in hell.
