It's a very interesting point that as an aesthetic that looks backwards cottagecore is in many ways ableist, but I would argue it also offers an escape from ableist society. In my experience as a cottagecore person, I found solace in escaping the capitalist obsession with productivity and society's idea of how I need to function to be successful as a person.
