Thanks for the memories. In the early days I think 1969, we often experienced failure of the gas to ignite to ensure the oil guns would light, so we had propane bottle with an almost 4 meter steel connected by a hose to the bottle. We would (2 people required) light the gas and then carefully feed the lance down the primary air duct and then by radio ask the unit operator to "start " the oil burner and as flame was being detected the fuel oil sprayed out and ignited 😅 onto the next burner.
