Lake Mohave falls inside the Lake Mead Recreation Area, but this lake offers something a little bit different from Lake Mead. In my opinion, Lake Mohave is a great place to find smallmouth bass. So follow me out to Cottonwood Cove as we try and target some bass.

Indeed lovely colours on those fish. They look healthy too. Nice clear water and surroundings. Lets hope the little one survives.

Thanks Joe, I do believe it's the clear waters that give these fish the colours. In murkier water they end up just being brown.

Thanks Tim. You can drive all the way down to Cottonwood Marina. But you have to hike out of the marina to some fishing. Ski cove to the south is a longer hike. Both spots aren't that busy. But there is always Katherines landing if you don't want to hike.

I have struggled to find small enough jig heads for sunfish. So I just use trout magnets.

Hey PossibleCloud9, I tend to buy the eagle claw crappie hooks. Don't know the size, but you will find them at any store. A longer shaft helps so the fish does not swallow the entire hook. Be careful when using smaller hooks as fish will often get hooked to deep if the hook is too small.
