Aaah she says allowance is P1000 and we don’t pay school fees here, also I have never paid P5 at a clinic or hospital they don’t really demand the payment
It should be like that. People should say you are good in this and that. Gao ipoke Rea go boka. That's go le botlhokwa to live people to study and analyse on us their own way, that way we also learn a lot and see were we need to improve. Rather to always interfere and try to always be relevant like what my fellow country people do in social media.
Botswana was once ranked among the poorest country in the world, it was neglected by the British who failed to develop it. Thus no infrastructure. It was up to the Botswana government to develop the country and now Botswana is one of the most successful countries in Africa. The country has low corruption and has managed their diamond wealth well, a beacon for other African countries to follow.
Visited Gaborone Botswana a year before it's really a nice country. one thing that amazed me much is that u can rarely find people while u want to take a walk or visit some places number of poulation is extremely low compared to addis ababa.the Botswanan government is really taking care of its citizens.❤Botswana
Hellow, We don't use that word when talking about Botswana, there is no Botswanan, it doesn't exist and it doesn't mean anything. Is either you say Batswana did these and that referring to the people, and you say Botswana Government.
I so agree. Definitely considering relocating here. I moved to Nigeria which I feel was a big mistake from USA but I’m alive and can get this thing right.
Wow this makes me look at our country under different eyes, things we take for granted. Hospitals hardly ask for payment even school fees students hardly ever pay back. The lady is well vested in knowledge of Botswana
Lady in red sweater and black cap, girl tlhe mma wena you did your thing. I loved how you responded to the questions. Please share your business contacts or socials so that we support you. I hope you see this comment
You are welcome in Botswana 🇧🇼, if you are a business person you can make good investments especially in Agriculture since Batswana are brainwashed to believe in 9-5 jobs so they don't focus more on agriculture, they all want 9-5 job, that's how we were brainwashed by our parents, so if you come and set up some businesses especially in Agriculture you can make some cash , also government has made some new policies and ban importanting of some agriculture products from South Africa, so this is an advantage to invest in Agriculture in my country Botswana
@KaraboMoloiwa - State financial support for SMEs and startups is only available for Motswana citizens, not foreign investors. Stop misleading people. Botswana government took a protectionist stance to support locals.
I'm a university student in Botswana, and we indeed receive small incentives for pursuing education. Campus students receive an equivalent of 1,620 pula, while students who don't prefer campus receive 1,920 pula monthly. At the beginning of every semester, we also receive an allowance called book allowance, which varies depending on the program you are studying, and most range from 1,400 pula and above. I think one of the reasons why we are less populated is migration because most educated Batswana prefer to relocate to better currency countries, and the most preferred one is the United Kingdom.
@@NET_TRADERS that was serious money then, and it's ĝood given the fact that Botswana is not a high cost of living country, you could go on trips with that amount of money, when classes have ended.
Just subscribed, so maybe when you do price comparisons, you could convert the host country's prices to the U.S dollar, people will automatically know if its expensive or not because they use mostly dollar for exchange. Convert and put the prices in dollars on the video
‘Empty streets..no people’ is how my Kenyan friend recently described it 😅 Absa is a South African bank but they extended their reach when they took over from Barclays Bank when it existed Africa. Thank you for highlighting our peaceful Botswana😍🇧🇼
Botswana is nice country, full of democracy How I wish they can increase their population it will good for business for locals and local productions. The people are lovely.
I think Botswana success was pre baked the good leadership was just the final step, what I mean there are very few tribes in Botswana compared to Nigeria, maybe seven tribes if that and 70percent of Botswana is homogeneous Tswana speakers.
S Africa are hard headed won't listen to nobody Botswana can teach us we are in a shit hole our country is broken no government no good oppression party for years
Mzee Kish! Nice video bwana! ABSA bank is the banking conglomerate that bought out and rebranded all the Barclays Bank operations in Africa a few years ago. That's why it's all over. It's from South Africa. It used to be called "Amalgamated Banks of South Africa" a very long time ago - abbreviated to ABSA
beautiful show, beautiful and receptive People of Botswana... Hopefully next time you also get to visit Kasa e and Maun for those exquisite sunrises and sunsets, and the wildlife 🔥🔥🔥
In Botswana we are taught about family planning from a young age, they teach also about teenage pregnancy. The government provides free contraceptives like IUD,pills, condoms etc….Honestly it’s not ok to bring more children if you cannot provide for them..
Single parenthood is very high in Botswana. I liked how education and health is free. It's crazy. Even foreigners are treated for free at government clinics. Coming from Kenya, I can assure all Batswana that Botswana is a good country. Way better than most African countries. It's not perfect but it's better.
African Gesture~Respekt🌍🙌🏿 v/s Western's, inter-cultural differences, not sure about other African parts but certainly sure about Southern... unfortunately might be mistaken for something else apart from what it is. 🕊️🫶🏿🌍🌄🌱💪🏿🙏🏿
Looking someone straight in the eyes seems like rude and confrontational in my believes, I don't stare at peoples eyes because am polite@@mogopodiphiri6286
After wasting someone's time asking them questions like you have done to that lady, at least buy from them or give them a token. It's called courtesy. Nitakufunza hizi vitu mpaka lini? You have not respresented Kenya well hapa. Go back to that lady and make sure you buy from her Acha kutuangusha hivo.
Typical...want an interview for free, but won't support and purchase anything.😂😂😂😂😂 Everything always must be given free t🎉🎉 here is a bunch of flowers for free 😅😅😅😅😂😂😂
Kish it's giving a bushy man vibe when you touching items such as fruits at the supermarket meanwhile you not even buying them. You can show us by pointing a finger without touching it.
Living allowance in university is P1 900 for off campus students(142.90USD) and P1500(112.82USD) for on campus students as of today(08/09/2024), and as for the food, the school does not supply free food to students, atleast in The Univesity of Botswana where I study, i don't know about other schools.
Migration, Demographics and history is the reason we are less populated than most african countries. The Bantu people migrated from north coming down to the south and when they did they reached coastal areas like southafrica, Namibia eswatini, angola. Botswana is situated in the heart of southern Africa. migration is reason why we are less in this demography because our ancestors moved to the coast or where there is water
@@tshiamisomadumane5198 the Bantu migration is full blown lies and hogwash I can't believe there are people who still believe this nonsense and no time in history did African people ever call themselves Bantu, so who are Bantu?
Yeah me too, in fact I’m puzzled that he thinks his ancestors are from the North😂 Who the hell is Bantu?😂 I love Botswana though, the mining deal stroke there should be applauded. 50/50 ownership between the Government and De Beers as well as equal benefits to all the different tribespeople was the best to eliminate greed and corruption.
They no such thing as Bantu people. And Batswana originate in present day South Africa. Batswana been in Botswana for less 300 years at best. 250 years more likely. Batswapong arrived as late as 1950s
There's no Uber but there's inDrive which works exactly like Uber. Also, the CBD is new and still being developed. The Main Mall used to be the CBD until just a few years ago.
You should come for a second visit again and enjoy the safari view at Okavango and sand dunes in the deep kgalagadi❤ Thank you for visit and for complements for our country ❤❤❤
Botswana is a peace heaven. A country that has means to develop her children to full capacity irrespective of their backgroungs. No street kids and rampart homelessness. Culture, original unimpaired African culture is sustaining the people.
At the hospitals there young ones are given supplementary food for free that is beans, oil there is malutu and tsabana atc for the not to be malnutritioned
Our Justice system is the best,People are friendly, our governments is generous, there is order,we are respectful and not tribalism, we are united.visit the northern side of the country and enjoy our tourism nature.🎉
ABSA=Amalgamated banks of South Africa. There was a brief period (2005-2018) where Barclays was a majority shareholder, it’s a big bank like Standard bank (related to Stanbic in Kenya, they all had some British influence at some time. South Africa was a British colony until the 60s but they made sure that they own companies in Mining and financial services. Most of these companies started in South and branched north to a lot of countries in SADC
There is no Uber in Botswana however Indrive has recently gained popularity especially within Gabs. Bolt is also available with limited users. Botswana's small population remains a mystery as even family planning and contraceptives only started gaining traction in the 90s bc of HIV pandemic. The economy has always been stable until covid. health, education and entertainment industries got really compromised. Corruption, and unemployment also remain major challenges in Botswana. Great place to visit the tourism the culture , beautiful women, the love amongst the people is a breath of fresh air.
Definitely its allowed that is a flea market like your Kigomba but not crowded. You can rock camourflage*** and nobody bothers you about it. That is Rail Park mall at the bus rank very beautiful
No one will call Botswana xenophobic for making it hard to get in but they will cry xenophobia on South Africa because we are the rich daddy of this continent and we must just accommodate people like we owe them. Power to Botswana keep your country like that and don't allow them. SA has the highest migrants in Africa and this ungrateful people continue to call us names, so it doesn't help to help Africans
Botswana is not xenophobic, they enforce their laws. South Africa, your people in authority are corrupt - the police, civil service etc Blame yourselves, not the immigrants.
@@Accuface2000 very true , instead of passing the appropriate laws, corrupt politicians and other rabble-rousers incite the populace against the immigrants.
@@Accuface2000 SA has way more migrants than Botswana or any country in Africa. SA is not corrupt but SA is that country that people will do anything to be in it, is not that its corrupt is just that we are on a continent full of failure and losers who will do anything to be in SA, i guess that is what happens when you the only shining star on a very dark continent
@@Accuface2000 Nope we don't have to blame ourselves for ungovernable people who cant build their countries, the question is, why are many Africans failing to build their countries but instead would rather flee to SA. Botswana is doing well because their economy is joined to SA economy. Any country in Africa which their economy is much joined with SA economy, they are doing very well, is not an accident that Botswana, Nambia, Eswathini and Lesotho are relatively doing well as compared to most African countries
@lozi4163 - South African authorities, employers, employees and civil servants are corrupt. If Thabo Bester could bribe prison officials to steal a body and get out of prison, you can imagine the amount of corruption in the streets and offices. Scapegoating immigrants who take advantage of corruption, weak policing and loopholes will not work. You allow them to do that. Botswana is not corrupt that's why crime is low.
I wonder what the average income in Botwana is. I have a friend who lived in Gabarone working for an international organization and he used to complain about the cost of living. I remembered he mentioned that he used to go to South Africa to do some of his purchases of basic staples.
