This is all just for fun and I know already that some of you will take it way too seriously. There are a number of ways that this is wrong and has so many holes in it you can strain pasta with it. Don't poke holes. Just enjoy the ride :D
I love your honesty at the end, it's a true summation of the garbage that litters RU-vid and the internet these days for the sake of more clicks and views
I think DLC for Zoo would be shooting themselves in the foot. That means that anyone who wants to play "PlanCo 2" will need to first purchase Planet Zoo and then the DLC, effectively making the game cost almost $100 if not more. On top of that, a lot, if not all of the AI would need to be rewritten to choose between enjoying the zoo and finding rides. Ultimately I don't think this is the route they will go. Also I agree they wouldn't use a new engine, but it will be heavily modified and updated to include better rendering. I don't believe AI will be improved but I do think we will see an improved coaster building system, rebalance of the prestige system, inclusions of the additions to Planet Zoo like the restaurants, employee only paths, research buildings, and a general push towards bigger parks like Disney. As a game dev, this is how I would go about releasing a second PlanCo anyways.
That is one of the major plot holes i refer to... it will be stand alone.. but maybe it will be a plug in, rather than DLC. 2 standalones that are connectable
@@NerdchachoThat last sentence you said would be the best outcome, I think. To separate games that, with their powers combined, make an incredible super-game.
I'd rather PlanCo 2 be its own game with some zoo animals included. ofc not to the extent of Planet Zoo, but things you'd normally see in a theme park zoo.
I found PlanCo almost 4 years after it released, so the thing I'm looking forward to the most about a possible PlanCo 2 is being there from the start. The hype from the teasers and trailers, the anticipation of release - all of that stuff I'm really looking forward to actually being a part of this time round!
I've been a planco player since the alpha and I can tell you without a doubt, the hype for that game was insane. Every livestream feature reveal was soo cool. The months up to release were the best, the community was super lovely and the hype continued with fan favourite dlcs. Unfortunately development came to a sudden halt in 2019 and we haven't heard anything since except for console edition. I hope we see the sequel this year. There were roadmap leaks in 2019 and they came 99% true. They also announced their fall game would be a big deal and a game the community knows.
my theory- planet world/planet park. They’ll make an all in 1 typa thing, my problem with that, map won’t be big enough, things we all wanted to see as features for PC2 have less chance of happening. Good thing tho is that we might get functioning ✨roads and car parks✨. Idk, but it would be cool, then they could have like the dlcs for the rides as there’s only so much someone can do with animals. just add all the animals to the base game, and have all the coasters and water slides and rides there too, have scenery as the DLCs. Fun for everyone that way. I like it, but I don’t at the same time. We’ve just got to see what they do with it (give me my better optimisation, customisation, switch tracks and drop tracks and I’ll be happy as Larry), also I feel like it’d be simultaneously launched as PZ2 and PC2 as a whole new game. Revenue stuff yk
I really hope you are wrong. I don't want to buy Zoo, I don't want all the Zoo elements cluttering my menu options. But this is one of the more original theories I've heard. 👍
I want plano2 to have custom animatronics. The ability to add movements to scenery pieces on a sequencer. I don't think they can do this with planet zoo engine, so i hope you're wrong.
This is actually a really good theory! I wouldn't be apposed to the idea of receiving Planet Coaster 2 in the form of DLC. I just want a game that runs well. I have a GTX 3080TI and Planet Coaster chokes on that sadly. This is partly why I vastly prefer No Limits 2 for Coaster creation now. That being said, I would want them to go all in with the DLC. I wouldn't want them to plop a few coasters in and call it a day. I'd want them to go further, and really give us the sequel we've been waiting for.
@@Nerdchacho I got it wrong... I have the RTX 3080ti, it tears through anything I throw at it. My CPU is the Ryzen 9 5900X (which is overclocked). And I have 32gb of ram. So my system shouldn't have any issues. The moment you throw a big park at it though, or hit a certain piece count, I wave bye bye to all my FPS
This is such an interesting theory, Chacho, and I really appreciate your deep-dive into the background of the development of the games (that was all new to me)! Although I personally hope it's not just a DLC to Planet Zoo and gets its own fully fledged and eagerly awaited PlanCo 2 release, you certainly could argue that with this week's release of Planet Zoo Console Edition, Frontier are trying to refresh interest in the game in order to expand upon it! (Side note: as a Mac and PS5 user, I can FINALLY enjoy PlanZo after all these years!!!) I'm just now getting familiar with Planet Zoo, but my follow-up questions for you and everyone else are: 1) What features are on your wishlist for PlanCo 2 (sky's the limit!), and 2) Given that Planet Zoo offers a glimpse of what we could expect for PlanCo 2, what features are still missing and/or lacking in Planet Zoo that you wish Frontier would address in a PlanCo 2 release?
Love this idea. True or not, there's a special something that Frontier could utilize for future development of games. Or really any gaming company. The "parallel universes story bridging" concept.... so to speak. #AlongForTheRide
I think your point at the 6 minute mark (or so) is the best reason they wouldn't add it to Zoo; People who REALLY like coasters, who have thousands of hours in PlanCo probably won't buy Planet Zoo for DLC. I've got a friend who builds some amazing stuff and he just doesn't pay attention in the slightest to what Zoo has, he had no idea it had weather or actual resturants. I think it makes sense on paper to add Coaster 2 to Zoo, I don't think Frontier would do that. The better play would be to add PlanCo2 and PlanZoo 2 to Elite Dangerous. lol
I reckon they'll make a "Planet Tycoon" title and just rework the 'zoo' game into an all-in-one tycoon game and of course you need to buy it as a new base game otherwise how do they make all the moneys these hungry hippo game studios so crave. 😅
Maybe a new game. would be a better idea like "Planet Park" as the base game set, and then expand it into different directions. I would like Frontier to do a less serious game, more in tune to RCT3. I really hoped that Park Beyond would fill this void, but sadly it didn't.
I would love them to combine the 2 but I don't think consoles would handle it. The maps would need to be a lot bigger. If it happens I would have to get back in to p.c. gaming 😅
I know this is the most popular wish of the community. However, its already ended before it started: A new DLC will not make them as much money as a new game. And they need money. Its even more likely, that they would have switched plans from a DLC (or lets call it add-on) to a full game for the dollars. And hey look, I am no1 for SEO on that topic yay 🤣
