That was one ginormous hunk of airplane. The Antonov AN-224 now lives on only in the memories of the flight crews who flew the mighty plane and the people who saw it as it was touching down and taking off.

Nice job. Flying into HKT was a bucket list experience & was the best. If you could open the window you could have grabbed people’s laundry of the line. There’s a compilation on here of planes wheels scraping roofs & taking tiles off.

Not on 13. Only 1 124 landed at Kai Tak and it had to use 31. Wingspan of the 124 meant nothing could taxi beside the runway.

Such a unique aircraft. Huge and very much antiquated cockpit technology but a one of a kind flying machine that delivered large and heavy cargoes all over the world. Sadly destroyed in the early months of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
