I have seen a few of hers and they are enjoyable to watch. The Huntsman spider reactions are a good one. Touch wood I've never once been swooped by a magie or a plover and they're all around me. Every street has two lots of resident plovers and once they know you you can walk right past and they won't even look at you. They are also one of the few animal species that will protect any other species under threat and will take on the role of protector and carer for any young bird fallen from the nest or being attacked. I watched a pair lead a top notch native dove just out of the nest right to a parent sitting in a shrub about 10 metres away. They are also the best intruder alarms too, nothing or no one gets past them at night because on average a hooded lapwing (plover) will only sleep around 15 minutes every 24 hours during hatching and raising chicks. Otherwise outside of breeding one is always awake on guard while the partner gets shuteye but usually it's always both awake and cackling at anything that moves. Them and magies are actually two of my favourite birds, especially plovers once you become familiar with them. Luckily growing up on the beach and starting to surf as a grommet (bratty kid surfer) rip spotting was one of the first things I learnt. Not to stay out of the rip but to use the rip to get out the back easier. The beach behind me is an unpatrolled off leash dog beach with a pet friendly caravan park backing on to it. Every summer I'll have to point out rips to especially kids down from the country. They see what looks like calmer water with no whitewash and think it's a safe spot to splash around in. Visiting dogs are regularly being brought back to shore by a surfer or someone who's swam out to rescue it, and quite often the hysterical owner who tried swimming out to save their dog.

I’ve never had any experiences with magpies, but they are such intelligent birds & sound so lovely! I’m also a lover of plovers- I always found that if you kept your distance and were quiet, slow & respectful, that they would just ignore you- I had no idea how little they slept or that they can be protective of other birds! I know a lot of people who grew up near beaches & are good at spotting rips, I, on the other hand would probably be the idiot who didn’t even notice any difference in the waves & would get into trouble 🙄🙄

@@CheekyKoala There are a few youtube clips showing rips with green or other coloured dyes that show exactly where the rip is.

i never taught about rips, but i suppose living 3000klms from the nearest beach the teachers thought it wasit was needed, my sister was an arachnophobe, but she cured herself by buying some plastic spiders and putting them near her light switches, i don't mind spiders, unless they get on me , then they die!!, best coffee i ever had was in the HEMP Bar in Nimbin , coffee and a joint .... nothin' better, another cool video , thanks Cheeky

Surf Lifesaving in Tassie do school visits to schools on the east coast & other areas near beaches to educate children about rips etc. that was not a thing when I was growing up, but I grew up in the suburbs, so probably would have missed out…. Here’s where I admit that I didn’t get to Nimbin when I did my road trip…..

This English lady is quite good and well spoken with a real English accent and not a fake one .I don’t put sun protection during winter as I don’t burn . I have olive skin . You have to be aware that blocking the sun everyday means low vitamin D and can still lead to cancer . So wear sun tan protection where needed and eat plenty of foods that are high in antioxidants.Thank you for a great reaction to this video .

Yep, the downside of “SunSmart” vitamin D deficiency has become a major issue here in Australia! A bit of morning sun or late afternoon sun is actually a good thing, a lot of people seem to have forgotten that!

Nah yeah Jordana Grace is pretty good, this was a good video from her. I've mainly seen her on youtube shorts. To her credit she just did a video on spiders. When you discussed spiders it reminded me of an American reactor a year or two ago that got scared of Australia for the spiders. He had a run of videos that had a spider in it; then he stopped taking an interest in us and moved on to Germany. 😆😆 Another suggestion - when you are in the right mood - is a British guy in NZ called Curls. He had a bad experience in Australia. ☹☹ Fortunately, I'm not subject to the Kmart effect 😄😄

Was that guy who put out a video saying that he won’t go back to Australia? If that’s the one, I’ve watched it a few times & want to do a reaction video, but am super aware of the need to tread lightly with that one, so I keep putting it off….

There's a Canadian bloke who does genuine honest Australian reactions without the hoo-ha who is worthwhile watching. Discovering NL with Kevin. You could say he's become an honourary Aussie who would be more than welcome. His Bathurst reaction cements his respect.
