what a great video, just what I was looking for. Straight to the point and giving good information while driving. I was debating between this one and the Big Rock 3s, now I think this might be the one..
@@jasonsalinas4600 I think so because the Senton is just so mean, it feels like a 4 or 6s car in its ferocity, it's so tough it's near unbelievable, and even when it does break is easy to work on and parts are cheap. I would recommend immediately swapping the stock spur gear out for the metal one, and it's 50+ MPH tank after that.
I absolutely love mine. My friends have dubbed it "Old faithful." I turned it into a street racer due to the fact that it kept eating the off road tires. 😅
Thank you brother, always like hearing from you Sir. Btw, if you still have your bigrock, I think many people would love to see you bash it out a bit. I know I sure would.
@@Rek_Rc I do! I rebuilt the rear gears after I burnt up another input gear doing battery testing (I am done using it for battery testing lol). I still haven't got the video out as I needed 2 3s runs in the Bandit to finish up the big test. So yeah, running the Big Rock is on my list of things to do but I am still obsessed with the Bandit and have some unfinished business with it (got the new speed controller now and am headed on in the morning for some runs..... then I plan on putting the stock motor and there and seeing how fast I can get it on 3s - hoping for 95 mph with the slower motor). If I have time tomorrow or early next week, I am taking the 50 plus mph HBX truck out with spiked tires for some baseball field sheading and then.... I will for sure take the Big Rock out again (I had it out like 2 months ago running it with my friends Rustler but didn't make a video (he drives way to slow lol).
I chose the Senton 3s over a Traxxas because the price and toughness and speed . I had it for almost 2 years and it is stock except for tires . I love the little beast .
NICE! The notorious and the outcast are a blast. Nearly un-drivable but in the best way possible. Excellent for stunts and jumps. The senton and big rock are great for going fast and crashing hard.
It’s all about having fun with whatever your running. I have about 40 RC mostly budget ones cause I like variety and collecting. Iam getting an Arma vortex but guy had to wait a month for a replacement part. So I don’t have it yet. I saw that wpl truck. I have 2 of them.
Budget RC cars have been getting so good the last couple years, it's amazing.it really is all about having a great time. Scaling our world down too small for problems to fit for a while.
I still haven't gotten my hands on one, (I've commented on one of your vids quite a while ago saying it would be my next purchase), but I just haven't gotten the money yet. But I just got my first job and I can't wait to save up enough to pay my insurance, then I'm free to get my Senton finally 😅. I just got a brushless Temu RC car, the Traxxas UDR knockoff, the "Rapid" and I got it on MAJOR discount for inviting a friend, and only paid $11.10 for it (original price for the brushless one is about $120). Now I'm going to have my Hyper-Go (my first hobby grade RC, since February), then my little Banggood special "Rapid" trophy truck, which I'm actually really excited for. Then my Senton when I get the $. Can't wait! Love the vids Rek 👍
Hey buddy, thanks for dropping in again, I really appreciate the comment and it sounds like you're falling into the hobby nicely. You'll get that Senton and you'll have an absolute blast with it. I hope it happens for you as soon as possible!
I was torn between the Senton and the Slash. Ultimately I got the Slash for maybe better durability (shocks are a known weakness for the senton) but the handling seems pretty crap.
Shocks might be a weakness but I've only ever broken one on mine. I really like the slash, but I just can't justify the price. The slash is better on a track, and maybe comparable in durability as well, but it's just so hard to overlook the price when a truck like the senton exists in my opinion.
@@Rek_Rc oh yeah, I had to get that $399.99 price sticker off the box before I even got home. I didn’t want to look at it. I DEFINITELY didn’t want my wife to look at it 😅
I got in with a couple of banggood specials (HBX 16889a pro and Wltoys 124018 and later 124016) before I really committed and got an MT10 and then a Senton and I ended up selling the Senton and regret it. Probably going to pick up another. I can't understand why anyone buys a Slash unless you're going with the Ultimate but that's almost double the price of a 3s Senton. There's no comparison.
IMO If someone is planning on racing I would suggest the Slash, it is a better all around racing platform but I do agree it is way overpriced. If I wasn't planning on racing I'd probably just get a Senton....
The MT10 is another amazing RC. I really like them, I almost got one but I got my DR10 instead but only because I already had a stand out basher in the Senton.
It was the car I started the channel with. My first car was way back in the 80s, a Tamiya grasshopper. I got out of the hobby for almost 20 years after the 90s though, and got back in about a year and a half ago. I can't believe how much faster and tougher rc cars got.
@@Rek_Rc No wonder your so knowledgeable about RC's. The Senton must be a blast to drive on a dirt track. It's fast and handles like a dream from what I can tell. Hopefully you'll share more runs with us as it's really exciting to watch in action.
@@RCRoads actually my knowledge in terms of terminology, and certain technical aspects of RC cars has some gaps for sure. But my practical knowledge is fine, RC cars aren't that complicated, so as long as someone isn't afraid to break them, they shouldn't be afraid to try to fix them.
A arm looks a-ok to me hahaha i absolutely love my senton, and recommend it to anyone that will listen to me. Honestly the entire arrma 3s line is good so just pick the style you like. 4s is super fun if your electronics can take the voltage 🤯
You're right, the entire 3s lineup from Arrma really is just fantastic. Well priced, crazy tough, really fast, and beginner friendly. They could be a handful in terms of performance for a first-time driver, but they are very forgiving in their durability, so CRASH and LEARN I say!
Thanks for the quick reply. I just think i'm gonna leave mine stock Hoping it might help with longevity if I don't turn point settings up. Thanks again for the quick responses and keep making vids I love em.
@@Artificial_Dopamine thanks for commenting, I really do enjoy and appreciate it. The only upgrade you really need is on the big rock and senton, toss on the metal spur gear and you'll likely never need another one. Mine is bone stock otherwise except for the spur and A-arms.
