I love the first episode, but I loved this one more, it's got everything: Annabeth being a badass queen, Clarisse being absolutely terrifying, Mr. D being hilariously himself, amazing chemistry between all the characters. I can't wait to see how it goes from here!!!! edit: also Percy being the OG mama's boy: "I'm Sally Jackson's son" I SOBBED
I agree with you, Monica on the improvement on how Percy reacts to his mom’s “death”. I saw a meme of how Logan Lerman Percy reacted like he’d lost or forgot his homework
I’m pretty sure the voice is Kronos as I remember in the book something about the voice from the pit calling him and that when he goes to the underworld the voice is the same from the dream
I really loved episode 2. It was so much better than episode 1. It introduced more of the campers, Camp Half-Blood, Annabeth, Clarisse and Luke. So my favorite scenes in episode 2 are the bathroom, the Capture the Flag, and Percy being claimed by Poseidon scenes. They were done so well.
I felt very ambivalent when Dion was cast. I thought she was way too attractive but omg she reflects Clarrise's personality and aggressiveness so well. Her almost feral and vicious demeanor, and that scream my goodness. Absolutely perfect. She is tall/muscular, maybe not how I pictured her in the book, but she doesn't appear weak at all.
@ejburgess, I'm glad she doesn't appear weak at all. However, she's more calculating and less of a bruiser than books Clarisse, her agression is being channeled through her personality and mind rather than her appearance. The actress seems like a better choice for Reina Ramirez who appears later on.
Not gonna take anything away from Percy, but if you like YA novels I recommend looking into reading the Skullduggery Pleasent series. Kinda like Harry Potter but with an intelligent young girl/teen/woman. I lowkey think that if that series had gotten famous instead of other YA series, the world would be a better place.
I never read the books. Unfortunately I seen the first movie. Didn't care for this show; the trailer looked more of the same boring "chosen one" drivel. And, watching these videos, it does look to be pretty standardfare but actually... this show kinda looks like a whole lotta fun despite that. 🤔
It kinda is but it does the chosen one trope very well, and it makes a lot of sense within the story as a lot of Greek myths about heroes are chosen one stories and a lot of them don’t end with a happily ever after.
Orange is the new black ? I must say i really found it a bit weird that the run around there with orange t-shirts, for me that fits so absolutely not to the setting. For greek gods we normally are more used to white/gold or for fantasy more maybe brown letaher or whatever. But these prison style clothings are weird.
The concept of the series is the combination of Greek mythology and mundane life. Yes it is a safe haven/training ground for demi gods, but it is also a summer camp. That's why they wear the cheesy orange shirts, because that is the kind of clothing they would have at a summer camp.
