I love the idea that one of the gods attempted to find a pure soul to bless with devine power, decided that the purest soul was a random sheepdog and then just did the best with what they had.

I grew up on a farm in a rural area. While we didn't have farm animals ourselves, they were a constant presence because of our neighbors and kin. Absolutely nothing about Bor'Dor's behavior read to me as "I am a polymorphed dog" and all of it read as "I'm a rural bumpkin who is very in tune nature and livestock, upon whose welfare my life depends." I've known numerous people, mostly much older folk who have since passed on, that behaved , spoke, and processed the world very much like Bor'Dor seems to. Maybe I'm wrong. Dunno. Just my two cents.

There was a really cute moment in this episode where Marisha interprets something Matt says as an inuendo and loudly giggles, to which Matt gives an exasperated sigh, and Emily laughs and recognizes the same thing happening to her and Murph. (Emily's husband and NADDPod DM, for those unfamiliar)

So im not really onboard the Sheepdog theory but ya know, Utkarsh keeps referring to a piece of paper while playing the game whenever someone asks him where he's from or when he mentions where he's from. If we assume thats not just a bit of a tableside thing and also translates to the game, it could like Bor'Dor referring to tag on him with his address.... maybe a dog tag??

Great video!! Answering your question about the leyline nexus, I think people in Uthodurn didn't hear anything from Ludinus' speech because Team Wildemount appeared days away from the city, while Team Issylra was just hours away from Hearthdell, so probably the range of the nexus worked better for the latter. As for Bor'Dor, I'm still not sure about what to think of the theory (which is very similar to the one people had about Lionel the duck barbarian in C1), but regarding his powers, those strange shining hues in his skin + his comments about not seeing his mom in a very long time makes me think that maybe he has celestial blood thanks to her. PS. I don't know if you noticed, but Elder Abaddina quoted almost literally the end of Ludinus' speech for her own speech. Creepy...

not sure if I trust Bor'dor, I know I don't trust prism though. She's a level 9 wizard without even leaving the library, that's not a level 9 character's backstory. Also she mentioned she's from Emon, but the Cobalt soul is a wildemount thing, the cobalt reserve is the tal'dori equivalent. I'm not saying she's evil, but I think she's up to something. Emily is a great player, even as a guest I think she has soemthing up her sleeve

Deni$e is from Emon (or was in Emon when this went down?)...Prism is from the Shadowfell initially, just doing her apprenticeship in Emon so she could have been sent there to study. The Reserve is a part of the Cobalt Soul collective..but it's in Westruun,..so something definitely doesn't mesh... The Cobalt Soul has libraries/institutions all over...Wildemount was the beginning but there's also a group in Marquet.

I saw this in chat during the stream but someone said that maybe Bor’Dor is one of the trapped or eaten deities that inadvertently got freed by ludinus’ shenanigans. It would be funny of Bor'dor to be a true polymorphed sheep dog, Maybe he's some kind of herald for Melora the Wild Mother . Kind of reminicent of the ''Jon Heder'' theory, that Matt made canon, that Scanlan true polymorphed a duck and that is why Lionel Gayheart barbarian path totem is the duck.

Didn't the King of Uthadern mention that Ludinus was originally from a city in Issilra? What if the scry happens during that info dump and this half of the party go there to find more info on Ludinus (and possibly to kill time because they know it will be at least a week before the others can get back to the key) wonder if the elder can cast transport via plants she seems like a nature caster perhaps a druid or shaman?

So in one of the previous editions of D&D, there was a type of lawful good Lycanthrope known as a Weredog ( a Werewolf who self domesticated themselves through sheer will). So my brain thinks that instead of Bor'dor being a polymorphed Livestock Guard Dog, he may be a Weredog.

As much as I like that Bor'Dor is a polymorphed sheep dog. I am possibly reading that he is more on the autistic spectrum. He misreads social cues in a room. (Touchey without consent despite heart in right place/Prism not being happy for not having been promoted after who knows how long and thinks its an amazing record) He boldly states things about himself that maybe you don't socially. He probably finds the boots overwhelming to his feet and why his hair is unkempt. He did kind of shut down during the fight in the last episode. He believes that he knows the people because what else would they be like if not the farmers at home? (Especially compared to the rest of the AOL) He relates to animals more than people so he likes to check on them as well. He has a tag because he probably wanders off when given big tasks like go to the village at the bottom of the mountain. Maybe being neurodivergent, it blocked his divine soul powers until the overwhelming wayline fixed that. He probably has accepted that Rachet is gone and is able to move on because those two just didn't get along. Also he probably lives on the jerky that he makes because everything else just tastes weird and he likes to share so people would like him like laudna who is probably scary intimidating after the form of dread/spider climb incident. (He already relates to Prism with being a fish out of water) So for theory's with him, he's possibly going to learn a hard lesson after the favour. And that Deni$e is going to give him a haircut.

Point 1: this whole episode of the show felt weird to me, and I had to skim to even get through it. Prism literally JUST warned them not to take anything at face value, and what do they do? Take *everything* at face value. Something definitely feels off here. Point 2: I don't think Bor'Dor is a former dog. While I agree that the reason he cannot control his magic is because he likely did not have them prior, there can be many reasons for that. Such as the theory of him being blessed with magic from the power of the solstice. Personally, I suspect that all of the "noob energy" we are getting from both character and player is a ruse. As many have pointed out, the player is not new to D&D, so him acting as such is an odd choice. Unless it is intentional. I do not know exactly he is hiding, but I am convinced he is hiding something. Honestly, the only guest character I feel like we can trust is Deni$e. She is very upfront and does not feel like the most deceptive person, at least not in make-or-break situations.

My theory about Bor'dor, given he seems to have weather-related powers, is that he's actually Kord the Stormlord in disguise. Yasha knew through Beau what Ludinus was up to and asked Kord to help. He was looking down at the battle and was about to intervene when the Repositioning occurred. He followed one group of Moveds who had been helping Beau and disguised himself as Bor'dor, with a cover story, to find out what they know. But when the transformation was complete something unexpected happened and he lost his memory. Now the cover story is, to him, the real thing.

this is a great thought. however, you may have forgotten about the Divine gate, established some 800 years prior and the object of the event called the Divergence. this gate effectively prevents gods and other beings of similar powers to travel to the material plane. It is an interesting thought, and it would be great if one of the prime deities took that much interests in this issue, but the divine gate makes this simply impossible.

I have a slightly unhinged theory about what the endgame might be. I have a feeling that the story is pushing more for a destruction of the gods. I think there's an even chance they survive, so I don't want to call it railroading. But, my theory is that if the gods fall, I think the party might step up to take over their domains. Like Laudna said, there'll be a power vacuum. And nature abhors a vacuum

Maybe when the god visions that team Wildemount had chronologically happen, Prism might be called by Ioun, since she's a member of the Cobalt Soul and they're techinically followers of Ioun or the Matron, cause of the Shadowfell. Orym might feel some pull of the Wildmother, Bor'dor from whoever granted his divine soul powers and Laudna even could be called by Pelor, cause of her sun tree ties or even maybe Vecna, because of Delilah's connection to him. But since team Issylra seems to be less keen on prime deities, they could be left to just hear about the visions from the other half of the party.

I really hope Team AOL do not kill these worshippers of the Dawnfather. Worshippers of the Dawnfather are generally peaceful and protective of their flock. The Solstice may have spooked them into this. They will essentially become murderers and outlaws in Issylra. I hope they talk this out over the week break. Orym needs to be the moral compass and talk them out of murdering these folk. Try to subdue them, not kill. I love Laudnas theory of being near lay lines to be transported. I also believe that being Ruidisborn may also have something to do with it. As always a great video Luna.

Think Prism knowing a quite a bit of the Matron of Ravens may help the group to know more of why Luidnius needed Vax'ildan. Because the Matron has been mentioned in both of these episodes with this group. So perhaps we will be learning the why and what Vax'ildan and the Matron of Ravens have that makes Ludinius's machine complete. But just imagine how Fearne would be like with Bor'Dor and Prism, that is literally the most chaotic group of people right there. Also, I cannot wait to see how this battle goes Thursday. It seems this may be quite a lengthy episode with majority of it being combat besides the last hour. But I am curious on what they will find in this temple.

Long post incoming... Bor'dor is Predathos ( or maybe a massive piece of its power) Theory in there some where... I know the "Lab Dor'dor Dogson" thing is out there but I feel its just a joke and not a serious theory. 1. Bor'dor is a sheep herder... meaning he would have knowledge of animal behavior and could gain incite on the atmosphere of a location based on how the animal act in the area. 2. Bor'dor does not have a lot of contact with other people outside of his own home. He likely only knows people from his own village and thus it would be a situation where everyone treats each other as family. Him walking up to someone who is having a hard time and trying to comfort them with some gentle nurturing contact makes since. For him it natural to have less personal space issues because "EVERYONE IS FAMILY". Him calling Hinder Uncle as a Term of endearment instead of an actual family title is a very big indication of this. 3. Bor'dor giving people Jerky is likly his just trying to smooth over his relationship with people to show he is not hostle and has only good intentions... and it litereally the only thing he has left to give to people. How do you make someone who doesn't know you feel more comfortable? Give them some of your food. Considering the fact they are lost and are looking for help yet he still is willing to share what little food they have is very telling of his nature to be kind and take care of those around him. which is likly why he is a sheep herder. You need to be rathe patient with animals and know how to approach them in a non hostile way. Of Course huamns aren't "animals" so to speak... but again... Bor'dor doesn't have much contact with people outside of his own family and his job. Lastly... I want to throw my own Theory out here. Has NO ONE... realized his transport was VASTLY different from everyone elses? It didn't just take him... it safely took AN ANIMAL AND THE CARRIAGE he was on as well. So far NO ONE ELSE has had such large items carried with them. Prism is the only one that has had something extra taken with her... And that would be her spell book. I know Laudna has her bird and Fern has her monkey... but those are summons. Familiars that can basically be brought forth from nothing at anytime. The book is a cursed mage, a being with its own mind, and life outside of the power of summoning. She can command the book yes but it is it own being. Also Prism book is likly magically linked to her since she calls him "MY Spell book"... but outside of that, it litereally is it own being. So far ONLY BOR'DOR has had such a power event happen to him that a Reindeer (Reindeer are BIG) and and a vehicle ( basically) where taken with him. Now you may say "So what... he just happened to take a lot of stuff with him." Consider this... Where was everyone else that was tranported? ( Excluding the main group... they witness the event so its likly EVERYONE there got poofed or something) Prism was with other people about to be transported by way of spell. She was forcably Bamfed on her way to what ever teleport circle or whatever. She was likly with other magic user and people who where giving her her duties... none of them came with her. Deni$e was in a crowd trying to get to her X She was pushing her way thowards him when she got teleported.... yet... she didn't bring anyone with her. Consider the mass of the items Bor'dor Brought with him and the Area they had to cover. Look up a picture of a horse drawn wagon with room for general cargo. That would be at the LEAST... The legnth and width or 2 Small-mid sized Sedans. Why is it no one else brought things with them from their surroundings? I believe Bor'dor is a possible vassel for the being locked inside Ruidus... dude cast a level 5 lightning bolt BY MISTAKE. o.o Yeah it could of been just the Player throwing something out there... but it was LEVEL 5. How powerful is he that his first spell was a level 5 and his teleportation event was so massive it carried him and his ride with him without issue.

While I like the unhinged polymorphed sheepdog idea lots of these behaviors can be traced back to the standard background prompts in the PHB and creative RPing. The back-rubbing bit could be explained by the one I remember about personal space from the Far Traveler background.

Both the theory that Bor'dor is a dog and he is just a divine sorcerer don't have to be mutually exclusive. Hound Archons are powerful celestial entities, and if some hapless pupper got Polymorphed by a ley-line, who's to say a guardian angel-woofer wouldn't want to give him a helping hand staying safe and keeping people safe. Fun fact: as per the RU-vid D&D scholar AJ Picket, the first layer of Celestia, Lunia, is a vast endless moonlit beach where the souls of every dog can be found. They talk, they play with children, and comfort new arrivals to the heavenly plane. Some also become Hound Archons to help souls climb the higher planes of Celestia.

I think this theory is highly likely because he talks about getting back to his sick brother, then say that he might be dead but doesn’t it nonchalantly. Which is something I don’t think a human would do if they cared so much about their brother. He also doesn’t have anything from his brother for the scrying spell which is weird. Plus he keeps looking at his “collar” with his name and where he’s from.

I am not convinced Orym did the right thing with the "negotiation". They essentially agreed to talk to the Flame Keeper about the towns ultimatum, pack up and go or get wrecked, but he just made a weird claim that they ought to turn their attention to Ludinus. It's very frustrating to me how vary little the players think of the gods. I get it, it's not easy to leave your preconcieved notions about religion at the door when entering their fantasy world where gods are so very tangible, but they seem to not even be trying. as soon as the chance gave itself, they took up arms against the "church"

Its not to wild a theory but, and it's probably pretty clear, but the group is getting played to make the take over easier. They are all warriors for the Dawn Father. Killing them weakens the Dawn Father at a time where he can't afford to be weakened or help his followers as much as he needs to. This groups fight could be the reason the Dawn Father wasn't as present in the other groups story because this group was causing so much chaos for the Dawn Father to have to deal with, leaving the other city to fend for itself for a time

It's not an unhinged theory at all. Some more stuff: he layed down on the ground like a dog in the plant fight like a dog to try to avoid getting hit, he pukes a lot like those dogs that always vomit on the carpet when they get nervous, he has no legitimate clothes or items he owns (like a dog that carried nothing and only recently acquired a few items) -> when he got polymorphed he probably had to find both the dagger and the potato sack which is backed up by the odd dagger scry, and lastly he has a dog's empathy and constant desire for approval.

No matter how I love the sheepdog theory, Bor'Dor's behavior also aligns pretty well with just being from an extremely sheltered backwater upbringing. Still think there's something major he's not sharing though.

So...Critrole wiki says his class is Divine Soul Sorcerer...the name is interestingly suggestive...Pride's Call is in the Zemni fields.... The Luxon can alter beings/reincarnate beings. At this point...who's to say how old Bor'dor really is...and it's entirely possible he was a canine and due to the Applebee Solstice (that will never go away LOL) he's been nudged to remember his previous lives...or even reverted to a previous life.

Don't think the whole polymorph dog thing holds up could see the god choosen thing. I also wonder if Denise's presence could indicate that Bor'Dor is Dariax hiding. (Both Divine Soul Sorcerer's and we know he was close by) this would also make it very easy to justify the whole looking at the notes thing. To be fair I doubt this but it is fun to think it might be him

i felt pretty weird about this episode, the religious group didn't actually do anything to show they were evil and the villager group fighting them were basically agreeing with ludinus so I'm not sure why people like orym and laudna (who personally were affected by people like them) agreed to help.

So I thought of this idea so there was the God of death(vecna?doesn't matter) God of the void(so..black inkyness) and God of fate weaving(what is fate commonly depicted as? Gold threads) so the matron of raevens is a black inkyness figure with gold threads conntecing the fate that binds all(death) together and we know she manteld the God of death and 2 other gods disappeared that matches her motif and Noone I've seen has connected these together so I'm calling it now she killed 3 gods and took there power to make a new domain/aspect of reality because death/undeath, fate, void can be separate but could also be aspects of a "whole"("you do not understand the "wholeness" you serve"vox machina season 2) I've wanted to make a video but I've only just started being a critter a few months ago so figured no one would watch a new fan thanks for letting me post to the void
