Agree with you. 💖💖💖 It's really like we are the one speaking/praying. That everyone needs a messiah/savior in this dark world (full of thurder & lightning) and uncertainty. Going or running towards to the one who can save us, who can lead, who knows everything from the very start (the alpha and omega), who knows the answers to every questions in our hearts. I couldn't count anymore how many times I watched, listened, and felt the Transformations effect to my body & soul everytime I hear Morissette sing this song! Though I'm a Catholic Christian, i could still feel the doubt of my Faith to HIM.. I still feel the Lack of Repentance of my Soul.. Hi again, you were right about that feeling that the song was written for you, because I felt that too. I"ll recommend "Take me out of the Dark" by Gary Valenciano. He originally sang "Could You be Messiah" and later on arranged it for Morissette. It has the same effect.

This song, written sometime in the 90s, was rearranged by Gary V* for Mori, to pay tribute to the lyrics composer Freddie Santos who passed last Dec. Written all those years ago, yet so relevant today. Mori’s delivery is so soul- and heart- felt, that even after hearing this so many times from watching reactors, it still always moves me tremendously each time. mori is that most rare talent among singers. when she sings she can both fill your heart and tear apart it apart at rhe same time with such profound expression and clarity. her technical abilities are amazing but its surpassed by how the song can make each one of us feel, how it speaks directly to you. even long after hearing the song it remains with you. yes, thats how music can affect you.

OMG your message at the end!!. This 74 year old guy can only say Amen to LIVING in the NOW moments of our lives. I went thru hell 5 years ago being very close to death with surgery saving me and then many changes to be healthy again. It is so true, we have no guarantee beyond the right now. Revel in that cloud shape in the sky, that "different" person ahead of you in the check out line, that special 30 seconds of silence you and your mate have when you just know you are one. What makes this song so powerful, above and beyond Mori's angelic voice, is that she is talking to God in her worship. True worship is always vertical instead of horizontal, and songs that talk to God are always the most powerful.

A talent like Morissette, shows up only once in a generation. She is something special. Your insight is " spot on " ! But the music industry is so tightly controlled by commercialism, that artists like Morissette, will probably slip between the cracks and not be noticed ! VERY SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS. I'm so glad you talked so much about the lyrics. The lyrics were written by my cousin, Freddie Santos, for the first musical that he created entitled First Name. This version by Morissette was done for First Name Anew in tribute to the memory of Freddie who died last December 2020. He would be so pleased hearing how the song spoke to you so personally.
