Correct signage should be red "DO NOT ENTER" or a circle with a cross, in many countries blue signs is for tourist routes.

I got done by one that was signed a "width gate" i thought it was going to be a historic township with narrow streets but as i rounded the corner i was confronted with alot of signage and bollards. On my way to Heathrow keen to return the rental without scratches i saw a wide gap and a gap that looked way too narrow for a car, trying to make sense of the signage it was too late, as i drove through the large "safe" gap i looked at the car behind swerve right as they almost followed me. The correct signage should be "DO NOT ENTER" and be red not blue.

Bus lanes are in the Highway Code - bus gates aren't. This term seems to have suddenly appeared. That being said, there is a gigantic arrow on the road itself and signs on both sides of the road indicating it's only open to buses, taxis and cycles. You cannot make any sign clear enough to override the stupidity of some road users. I'd love to see retracting bollards as frequently found in the Netherlands, but that kind of infrastructure appears to be out of the question here.

the multiple signs are up high so the make you look up away from the faded arrows on the road its very clever.
