yeah I been picking off these licks. gotta write it out. it was slick he started the Bird Cycle on a different note, outlining that C# half dim to F#7, but then came back with the Bm E7 to Ami to D7 in a different route to get to the IV chord. it's the first deceptive tritone cycle phrase which makes it interesting. a lot from Cannonball up in here. Vince is strong.

@@docsaxman oh yea I hear a lot of cannonball in his style from a lot of his music. I'm convinced that Herring is one of the greatest of all time.

@@boodog47 yes I’ve known Vince awhile, I got him on the Basie gig as a sub. It was a blast. he’s got the late Cannon lineage but he’s a stylist he has his own thing. I always recognize him. He also studied with Phil Woods. It’s in there. He’s strong like Bull. I hope to write this solo down and add to the video!
