The Lamborghini Countach will ALWAYS be my absolute favorite car ever built. It's a complete work of art from tailights to the nose. This group of men did an AMAZING restoration of an icon and it definitely shows. GREAT JOB! Bellissimo!

+Robert Keeton Its indeed a very fine car. The sharp edges, big vents etc makes the look of the countach so aggressive. Its an impractical car to have but , hey its a real supercar and they are not ment to be practical. 70s and 80s supercars was absolutly beautiful.

+Robert Keeton I LOVED the classic white on white with full spoilers circa 1987. It seems that everyone had Farrah Fawcett in a pink thong (that most famous poster) pinned up next to classic white on white Countach picture.

It's his car, he can do whatever he wants. It looks like he did it all himself, in his own garage, with his hands and his wits. That is impressive. I'm guessing that most of the negative comments come from people who couldn't restore a dining room chair, let alone an extrememly complex car. I love it.

Amazing, thank you for the video... only a handful of people in this world are capable of achieving this... no easy task. The value of these cars has SKYROCKETED in the last few years and today, if you can find a damaged Countach for "cheap" and rebuild it the value could be achieved, but sadly many supercars simply can't be brought back from the edge.... I've heard stories from clients about Ferrari rebuilds that cost more than the car was worth - not sure I'd try it with many other cars, but the Countach is now selling for $350,000 to $450,000 (crazy), so if you could find one for less than $100,000 it might make sense.

Crazy amount of work, but you (and your friends I guess) pulled it off! I used to have one of those on a poster in my room as a teen. I thought then that it is a huge car (like my parents sedan). Much, much later I saw an actual Countach on the highway and was surprised at how tiny they are. ButI think this is the coolest Lambo ever made, it has a truly great design and balance. Timeless. I'm not sure any of the newer models will hold up that well (visually) in let's say 25 years from now. Unbelievable car, great job restoring and saving it!

I bet I have watched this vid 50 times. I have always wanted to take on this same project but never had the $. Absolutely stunning job guys, I love the orange. She turned out beautifully. That's the one car that always had the ability to put a spell on anyone who saw it. Once you see one your spellbound for life. Magnificent.

This is the reason "WHY" it makes it worthwhile to have a project in mind and actually have the balls to "DO IT" from the ground up. The process is painstakingly slow but if you have the will, the time and resources to undertake such a time consuming restoration, the rewards are immense as this video clearly demonstrates. The once a piece of admiration then turned almost scrap and then back to glorious life on the road again is truly remarkable work. This lovely and dreamy Countach was yanked back from sure death.

Holy crap!! Especially because of the end of the video, it is in my favourites!! Incredible how awsome this car looks in orange, from my childhood on, a Countach had to be red, like in the Cannonball movies, where it appeared twice in that marvellous color. Now the more important thing: My huge respect to the french Monsieur, who dared to take on this restoration project. Even with some help and some personal capacities in restoration of cars, this must have cost a fortune. I "so to say" restored an old Opel Astra F GSI with new engine and it cost me around 10 grand in € - I'm a student at university, so money is not that big! Huge and profound respect, the engine sounds so good and round turning, after what it looked like in the beginning a huge effort to get it done! WOW!!
@Tommyblueeyes

the third cannonball movie "speedzone" the countach was a replica..The 1st was a 1979 400s the second a 1984 5000s and yep u are correct she was monza red...desguised at the beginning in whitewash

Nothing in the world sounds like that 12. What an undertaking it must've been bringing this old girl back to life. I can't believe someone let her rot like that. Now you've got two reliable vehicles in the garage. The Porsche and now the 5000s. I don't know if I'm more envious of the car or the CNC mill station. Amazing work.

WOW! That engine needed a lot of TLC. I'm so glad to see someone take the time, money and energy to restore this back to its former glory. I can't understand how anyone could let a Countach get to this horrible state. I'm so glad to see that he got rid of the anniversary style rocker panels. This color is a little bit unusual for a later Countach LP5000. Thanks.

Carnography at its best from a timeless classic.... Fantastic restoration....Reminds me when i clocked an identical countach in black [5000s] on a "B" plate back in 1986 when i was 15 in rainham "Essex" parked in driveway, I knocked on his door and asked him if i could take some picks, He was kind enough to park the car on the street for me to snap away......Should have asked him to take me for a spin, he might have done?...GUTTED.

well of course! You are allowed to drive it to the max and down shift! This number was born 15 years before the ABS came out! You REALLY need a good driver beyond it.... ready not to chicken out when it happen and with a quick reflex to turn the front wheels when the back of this BULL spins on a side. Pushing the brake pedal will be to late and ready for the worse..... Off road or against a wall OUCH! THE MURCIELAGO AND DIABLO AND THE NEWER ONES the car does for you all amateur drivers.

There's a LOT to be told behind each of the pics shown at the beginning chronicling the work done. Just fixing that broken camshaft bearing cap would be a major piece of work. First you have to procure a new one if not make one from scratch, then trim off a bit from all the rest at the parting line, then CAREFULLY line bore/hone the whole assembly straight again. I live in the S.F. Bay Area, which is a pretty big metro area, and I can't even find a shop to cross-drill a crankshaft here any more. Getting one to take on a job like that would be absolutely hopeless. And then there were the many other tasks in bringing that car back to good condition that would've been as bad or worse perhaps.

Sometimes in far off places like that the smaller populations learn to be more resourceful out of necessity. Here in megalopolis USA people just bolt stuff together at best. If something fails they throw the whole damn thing away and get a new one (made far, far away) on easy credit. Also, with labor so expensive here, and the average person being such a cheap skate (with a short attention span) the market to have this kind of work done has withered to nothing over the last thirty years or so.
