Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has declared that one of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions, Access Bank Plc, has expressed willingness to partner with the State Government in developing an airport project in the State. Governor Otti made this disclosure when the Federal Ministry of Aviation team visited Abia State to inspect a proposed site for a new airport planned for the State. Governor Otti, who warmly received the federal aviation team, thanked President Bola Tinubu for approving the development of an airstrip for Abia. #anambrastate #soludo #alexotti

He has done marvelously too well than all the entire 37 states put together.but if he is not able to finish the airport I time we can happily,joyfully give another one year because we know he can deliver, good job sir Alex.

It is a thing of joy that at last the people of Abia state have gotten a governor that has it people at heart in person of Gov. Alex otti it is established fact that when righteous rules the people will rejoice but when wicked rules the people will cry, it will interest to know abia state have suffered so much in the hands of bad governors and there police that cripple businesses in the state but thank goodness for bringing this good man

@@LabaraNdonia because an international airport in the SE part of Nigeria will mean alot to folks who travel abroad and dont have to stop over in Lagos or Abuja just to go to the SE part of Nigeria... for example look at the crappy airport in Owerri, it is called an International airport but no international flights take place there... LOL

If he wants an airport then it has to be located more than 30 miles away from the closest airport. So, he has to situate it in a place far from these 3: Owerri airport, Ebonyi airport and PH airport by 30 miles in any direction. Standard aviation code.

Gov. Alex Otti is God sent. He should please focus more on the seaport and the EEC zone including dredging to the Atlantic. An airport could come during his second term. Both projects are very expensive. Seaport should be given priority.

Remember he never wanted to build an airport. But the audit of the billions located for the non existing airport triggered the federal government and access Bank to partner in building the airport which made him see reasons to believe he should do it

You dont need airport, its capital intensive, higher maintenace cost after buildig, airports are not profitable. Instead build light rail connnecting existing airports like Owrri less than an hr and make more money and plugh it back to other sectors.

Hello Sir, we know he is doing well. However, how come you are not using actual pictures of Alex Otti's projects. I love the guy, but when you are unable to use pictures of his projects then it creates the impression that you are over hyping him and you don't have images to back up your claims. May Gov Alex not end up being an e-governor. May God give him the grace to do well. Right now, every body believes he is better than Okezie. However, being better than Okezie is too low a threshold. He still has a lot to do.

Why did Otti leave the seaport project and focus on an airport? I think the seaport would have been far more important to Abia and Igbo land than all the airports in Igbo land combined. The seaport would have made Abia to rival Lagos in development especially as Abia already has 247 electricity

Why does every state want an airport? Emotional but not financial planning. All 5 south east states are not that big ( there are a few states larger than all 5 together). What is required is integrated road and railway networks. Almost all airports in Nigeria except Lagos are making losses.

Not at the moment. Aba needs public transport, bus stops, to fix its collapsed roads, lane mark them and install traffic signs. First things first, learn to walk before you can run.

Airport is wrong venture for Abia state, there are 30 minutes drive airports surrounded the state, he would have channel such strength to light rail lines in Abia state, which will yield more money than airport and create more job opportunities than airport.

@@macanthony1982 Ok. But if you go through Addis Ababa, you do 1 connection only. You check in your luggage once wherever you are travelling from and collect them intact in Enugu same way you checked them in. No hassles, no fighting over your luggage with thugs, decent planes etc.

Not all governors in the South Eaqst are in a hurry. Saying so isn't being so. The water fountain governor is just talking, neither is the murderer next door, the ozodingba nor the Ruga legislator. Unfortunately, the FG only approved an Air Strip in Abia. They've added it into the 2024 budget for the Ministry of Aviation projects. Gov. Otti is still negotiating with the FG to allow him upscale the Air Strip site to an airport.
