The officer can use binoculars while aiming. It was like thunder over the head. Keep shooting, this is the first time I've seen such videos (command of artillery in games), maybe they are unique. And yes, I like the period of the American Civil War. I study and become interested in this period. Greetings from Vladivostok, your health (raised a glass).
Great battle over the 'White House". Good job countering the Union Battery from literally a perfect artillery position & that ending was like fish in a barrel for your crews landing shots onto the Union. So looking forward to General Cody leading a possible cavalry charge in the future with this game.
As a former 13f or Army forward observer great contact. You might want to try want to zeroing your the whole battery on one stationary target on the map follow by a Shift from known point missions then you can do adjust your rounds. you could also (i.e.) you could do platoon FIRES = 2 gun salvo on a fire mission. The proper format for adjustments, are your deviation corrects ( left or right) then your elevation correction ( up or down) to standardize and speed your spot corrections. I love how they have Time of Flight TOF included. looking at joining a battery once i get my build complete and i could explain this in person. STILL great content. also have your ncos (chief or smoke get the gun crews to echo commands for more efficiency.
I know the feeling I can’t wait to complete my build so I can join an artillery crew as I was a 13b for 12 years in the army. If they could get four guns to zero at one specific range and target they could destroy the enemy as they move around the map. Treat it like a artillery battery, they could also make range cards so when Cody calls out say White House all four guns know it’s distance and direction and can adjust the small tweaks to target.
0:06 reminds me of the scene in glory when pvt shawts is being charged in the forest fight and he reloads to kill the guy charging him just in time. I know it doesn’t really make sense but it reminded me of it
Tell you NCOs to echo the order so they no when to hold fire. When that line moved across the road and the whole battery had prematurley blew their load, i think if they would have echoed the order, they would have had rounds for that.
