I haven’t found that counter depth are actually much taller, if any taller at all, than standard after spending hours a day over the last few weeks trying to find the right one. I hope they become more common because I can’t think of any other reason they are more expensive than standard depth considering they are so much smaller. I will be upgrading from a totally basic old school 30” freezer on top with zero bells and whistles, and even the nicest counter depth fridges I’ve found only give me a few cubic feet more of space inside, compared to standards that have around 8 more than my old one.
Unless we are talking stud work behind the fridge, counter-depth is absolutely essential for smaller narrower kitchens. I'm doing a kitcben remodel rn and the counter-depth side by side fridge is very great for spacing. I'm not going to risk structural damage over shelf space on the fridge. lol
Hi, is the cabinet for the counter depth fridge 24 inches deep? If it is, it looks like the depth measurement for the box itself is 24 inches. Can you let me know the measurements for 1) box with doors 2) box with doors and with handles? BTW, what is the width of the fridge. Thanks!
Hi Nelson! Counter depth refrigerators are shallower and wider than a standard depth refrigerator. Usually the depth range is between 23-27 inches. Hope this helps.
Unfortunately, you will probably need to purchase a different style unit that swings in the opposite direction from the wall or push the refrigerator away from the wall more if you can.
The ones w handles sticking out 3 inches ruin the point of counter depth. Terrible designs. Samsung bespoke is nice but no water dispenser unless you really spend up...
Thanks for the feedback. While we understand you don't prefer the counter-depth handle designs, some customers feel differently and do like this style of refrigerator.
