My heart breaks for the fact that we'll never have a game like this again. I'm sure people can replicate the gameplay and all, but people these days will never appreciate the old chunky graphics and the classic Valve and Half-Life sound effects, the old custom server text and HL vox, things like Hookmod and Nipper maps. This game was most of what I remember about high school, back in the glory days of Newgrounds and The Matrix. I'll miss it :(
If you buy it today from Steam, you can still play on protected cs 1.6 servers, but I prefer playing CSGO anyway.. its newer and for sure more competitive because of the Ranks System... Yea sometimes I like to go back to 1.6 or source for nostalgia.. but it gets boring fast after couple hours because I've played this game to much on my childhood
Assault was the first map that played in Counter-Strike when I played the game for the first time. I absolutely loved the map, the background with buildings and cloudy afternoon sunset, the footsteps sounds in the ground of the exterior, the T spawn, the CT spawn, everything. Although the map design got a lot better in Source and in CS:GO, it didn’t have the same feel that it had in CS 1.6 that made it special. Although assault is not popular like dust 2 or nuke, and currently is not played very much like those maps in CS:GO, it cannot be denied that this map is a classic part of Counter-Strike and made the game what it is today.
Thank you for not playing music all the way through the video. Although the intro was loud and not my kind of music, it did not play during the gameplay. This makes your video a cut above the rest.
i like it lol but more than one mistake here. A) at one point in the video for example you suddenly decide to stand still for more than 2 seconds. its recommended you dont stand out in open like that. people can see you B) at another point you walk up and confront TWO opponents at the same time, both of whom start shooting at you at same time. you start shooting the farther one, but the closer one has you in his grasp. you couldve, when you first entered that obstruction, either a) moved toward the right, where the farther opponent wouldve then had an obscured view, or b) thrown a flash grenade BEFORE you even entered that obstruction, thereby possibly blinding both opponents AND giving you a jumpstart at attacking both after you hid behind the object to the left C)not taking crouching as an important utility. at one point you come face to face (couple feet away at least) with an opponent, and you both shoot brutally at one another with your rifles. if you wouldve crouched down, you may have then had the chance to a) aim better , b) take opponent off guard, and/or c) give your possibly nearby teammates a clearer view at the target.
I used to play this since 2015 when I was 5 I was a pro gamer my dad's student at my home watches me playing counter strike now I'm 10 and I missed this game so much it feels like I wanna go and kill some people in the warehouse I miss it so much its 2020 happy new year!
I love Counter Strike, I use to play this all the time on Friday Nights after school with my brother. Does anyone know if you can play this on the newest X Box system now?
yep many school days spent playing this map instead of being at school lol....to be fair though CSS has done a very good job on building on this platform without going to the hectic extremes of MW3 etc
I had counter strike beta version from 2000 when cs was must installed with half life, and this map is one of my favorite. Did anyone remember map ca_cock?
The levels are different but it's pretty much the same. The sounds effects are identical lol. CS GO is a lot different but ultimately it's the same principle.
