I used to wake up 8 am every saturday after saving up all week to go to a local internet cafe and used to cash in what I could afford to sit at that internet cafe and play counter strike with friends, this game has a special place in my heart.
It's crazy I am probably way younger than you but I still managed to somehow sneak into an internet cafe when I was like 8 and I got to play CS Source once with the knife and all and it imprinted itself in my head as a special moment forever
A bunch of kids 14-21 years old talking shit across the Internet cafe. That place was like the casino - time flew by and never had an idea of what time it was unless you went outside.
That is the Valve mentality and it has been so for decades. Ever since HL2 release was pushed back because of hackers, they've simply kept MOST release dates to themselves. People whine about "non-communication" from Valve, but they don't understand why... Say you will release something in 3 days, but in 2 days all of a sudden you have to postpone it, then comes the negativity.. Better to skip negativity and just release content.
valve is slowly becoming a game development company again incredible edit: it seems theyre just making a remake of csgo. i mean some of the additions are cool and they did redo like, a single map in terms of gameplay. however, im expecting more in the future. its pretty early into development rn.
@blueasis ye but modern games usually do it a good bit after as it either does not matter to them, they want to add it as new content, or they didn't think about it. It also sometimes just sucks but I don't valve would miss on a map maker.
@Grimm II I really don't tbh and I didn't even play csgo but this gets me hyped. I mean I don't use map makers really but i know how much enjoyment can be found from playing player made maps.

For some even myself the smoke was a instant denier in early round when as a t, this will make molotovs a must for ct's since smoke will no longer really work for a rush denier, at least in my opinion.
Omg. I’ve been playing since I was 8 years old from the days of CS beta by Gooseman. Now at the age of 32…wow. I love this game so much. The day I get to step into this world in VR is going to be a whole new level of amazement. I hope that happens one day. CS FOREVER!!!
that literally is like VR cs, and has nothing to do with it being cool, kiddo. it completely takes away the strategic aspects of the game. this cannot be the update to come, it would ruin the game.......
It would be cool to have new first person animations for all the weapons in addition to all these upgrades. It would make it feel more like a sequel as well.
I like how they want their game to succeed by giving players what they want AND creating a map maker that will boost sales and leave the community happy
That's how they make money. Valve creates a framework, tells the community to handle it and rakes in the money with minimal effort. Works every time, somehow.

It should be. Adding to that, certain maps can have different weather to add gameplay dynamics. Either modifying the sound, movement, or god forbid RNG to weapons malfunction. That would be sick.
@@KarrasBastomi CS is probably too competitive for that. In Tarkov, that could work, but I would hate to see (in my eyes) one of the most competitively balanced games be ruined by weapon malfunctions that you have no control over.
Now would be the best time to do it, Blizzard killed OV and OV2 os complete trash, People are finally getting tired of the battle royal format the time is ripe for Valve to revamp its class based shooter
@@auraskadante6273 Bruh...come on man don't jizz on my cupcake and tell me it's frosting, The game started out as a perfectly balanced hero shooter that was 6v6, Then they started adding too many hybrid characters and the pros figured out that the offensive characters were obsolete and 3 tank 3 healer was the way to go because of the hybrids, At this point the game was broken instead of blizzard acknowledging this they instituted a class lock and the game was instantly dead, OV2 Is even further of a step back because blizzard refused to acknowledge the game play in balance because of the hybrid characters so they shrunk the game to 5V5 and instituted and even harsher class lock, The game is trash now is the perfect time for valve to revamp team fortress

I mean it's Valve, these type of things are expected since they don't come back to do a mega update for any game unless it includes some sort of Gaming revolution. They always push gaming a step forward.

Oh man, I haven't played since 1.6. This was shocking in regards to the amount of memories that flooded my brain. I'm 40. This is a game I played obsessively at 20.

@@scootza1 Nah. Black Mesa is already HL1 remake. I HIGHLY doubt they would re-release a game that was already remade unless they plan on remaking it and taking it a completely different direction.
I remember when the public beta for CS came out. Was a HL mod, fewer than 10 servers, and they were all empty. Rocking a Celeron 300a@450mhz and a Voodoo2. Fun times.
As a TF2 player, I'm very happy for the CSGO community! (valve has abandoned us, this is a cry for help) EDIT: The Summer update has arrived, Supreme Overlord Gaben has answered our prayers! Now we just need the Heavy update to come out...

I don't even play CS, and don't have any real interest in doing so, but seeing Valve coming back to _game_ development and finally seeing the fruits of Source 2 (CS2, HL: Alyx, Aperture Desk Job) just fills me with such joy. It feels like seeing the old Valve again. It makes my poor TF2 heart hope beyond hope. Source 2 isn't the most advanced graphics in the world, but what it excels at is a _consistently_ all around great look and ease of running its games. It still looks super detailed (even in VR), but it's less heavy than most other high-detail games.
@@seedee2103 CSGO broke its concurrent player record 11 days ago. It already happened just because of leaks. If we are talking general concurrent player records, taking all games into account, it probably won't, I agree.

I know!! I was barely paying attention at first but my friends uncle slipped out and stuck it in pretty hard and it make me twitch a little to the side and I noticed the lighting!!! It's so good.
@@Niyatex A mid tier pc can push hundreds of fps in 16:9 as well. I play 4:3 to make the models appear wider and i think most play 4:3 for that reason as well
They're effectively using a voxel mesh to physically simulate the smoke in a smoke grenade; their other trailers show players shooting through it and the sonic boom of the bullet punching clear holes in the smoke that fill back in over time.
Everybody is gonna play this on the lowest graphics possible after 1 week because they gotta see the *Pixel* of the enemy's head turning a corner. Still, cool to see it get an overhaul.
This is so exciting, I’m glad the time was taken to make an actual good game than just rushing it. I’m sure these new features will bring more techniques and tactics

An engine that looked impressive when the L4D2 Plantation level screens leaked in 2014.. I mean it still looks good, but only one major game has been released on this engine (bar DOTA2) for all the time it's been around, S&box doesn't count because it's not made by Valve. It's just sad. Where's L4D3?! That game needed a sequel ages ago as it's so bare-bones.
Realistically we probably will get a L4D3 I'm guessing it's a similar issue to HL where the expectations are high as hell and they don't wanna screw it up
After spending like 10 years trying and failing to make Half-Life 3, Valve finally is making stuff again. Alyx, Steam Deck, the new Big Picture UI, giving Source 2 to S&box, and now CS 2. What a time to be alive!
That’s what I’m saying! I feel like TF2 looks ancient compared to anything today. With it’s straight up pngs of characters on the main menu. something like this would hopefully maybe bring some new life into it

True OG's lol I didn't see any inclusions of the original maps there, just the CS:GO ones. I'd quite like to see a bunch of untouched maps from 1.6's legacy in there. y'know, cs_assault for example. Was nice to see italy though
@@zhell I don't think it's raytraced though. Nice reflections isn't always raytracing, especially since that would use a lot of the performance budget for no reason.
Fun fact: Ever since CS 1.6, there have been 3 Major versions of Counter Strike released: CS:CZ, CS:S, and CS:GO. Which can be named alternatively as CS 1.7, 1.8, and 1.9. Making CS2 logical in the version timeline.
as a gamer who played counter strike already when it first came out in version 1.0 back in 2000 i would have never ever imagined that i would be still playing videogames at age 42. so happy to see them announce CS2. honestly can't wait.
Source 2's Hammer for Half Life: Alyx was the most fun I had using ANY sort of Hammer editor. Now, it's in a non-VR game! I'm sure workshop creators will love the new editor and all the other tools that come with it
Also the new garry's mod successor made by the same people, S&box, also uses source 2. It is truly getting close to replacing source 1 entirely, we just need at least a good single player game or two to round things out.
