yeah the cinematics are usually recorded beforehand using the demo player which isn't available yet

@@mistpx This is slightly inaccurate information. In CS:GO, all the observers use HLAE which allows for cinematic camera shots to be made using coordinates. This isn't yet in Source 2 and probably won't be at all since HLAE is really old software.

@@FruitPercy my bad that's how we did it in the smaller events back in the day but yeah HLAE is probably the more popular way nowadays

seems like it's a bigger hole near the edge of the smoke too

it's more about how much of the smoke you're shooting through. if you shoot through the center of the smoke from the opposite side, the hole won't be as significant, but if you're shooting through the edge or from inside, you're shooting through less smoke and the effect is more pronounced.

Honestly looks like cool counters, not sure why people were crying about this on reveal. People will adapt and stop holding dumb angles like homeboy here lol

I like the change to how HEs and smokes interact. HEs used to feel extremely situational and it was almost always better to get a molly. Now there's an actual reason to buy HEs on a regular basis.

Smokes are only one part of the problem. Utility usage is so much more key now than it was back then, from eco round nade stacks to pop flashing a lurker in or going for mid round retakes. I strongly suspect skyboxes will be necessary to balance out certain parts of certain maps, but we'll have to see how much the meta has changed things now compared to when skyboxes were first put in.

@@FShani I don't think skyboxes are a good idea, it's the wrong solution for the problem. They introduce unexpected behavior, and weird lineups like the mollies on inferno. If certain cross-map smokes are seen as too problematic, I think it makes more sense to fix them by adding new out-of-map walls/buildings to prevent those smokes from being thrown. Inferno in particular has a bunch of 'dead space' between A/CT & banana/B site, so they could easily just add shit on top of there if they wanted/needed to stop smokes from going over. The one thing skyboxes still make sense for are preventing OP boosts like overpass A site olof boosts. But I still think it would be better to prevent these with actual visible geometry rather than arbirtary skyboxes.

Yeah, too bad my poor RX 580 will likely burst in flames and likely I'll perish with it.
