Valve really has an outstanding orchestra in their back pocket. You can really feel the rising action in this song. Starting ominous, climbing up to heighten the action, before calming back down again. Before my favorite part, reaching a tense climax at the last 30 seconds to make you really feel the stress and intensity that a person would feel in that situation
***** Because of how good it is, The music is amazingly written and fits perfectly. Valve made a masterpiece of trailer for their game. I prefer this trailer over Dead Island's one (though DI's trailer was pure awesomness too).
Simply took the Behind the Scenes & Official Trailer and mixed them together in Sony Vegas to get a consistant track. I'm surprised Valve hasn't made any form of release for this track, even as a free download or cut content left in the game files. I only found out recently that Valve made a free download release of L4D2's intro cinematic theme years ago, named "Chocolate Helicopter". So why not for this? (As far as I've heard at least). Curious indeed.
I wish the soundtrack was the same as the trailer, if you notice; the start of this particular part is played twice before transitioning to the strings. It's brilliant, isn't it? The bombastic brass, into that guitar in between. Oof, I love it. With the gunshots and the action of the trailer during this musical cue, gives me chills every time.

Man, believe being in an actual situation where you alone are faced against some bloody human who wants to kill you but you have no idea where he is currently at the same time there is a fucking BOMB in front of you that you have to disable. Whoever was defusing that in the trailer should recieve all the medals in the world :D

well 10 years i think is good enough, the music still actually is damn fire, in CS2 youll have this more of hope in music, like youre playing a game, but this music is like between life or death
