Match 1, game 1, when the opponent doesnt Spell Pierce your Counterspell to force their Thoughtseize through, they lose the ability to see your hand in exchange for hoping you tap out, potentially wasting one of your turns by piercing your following play. Pierce is also mana efficient enough that they don't mind if you just pass without jamming Counterbalance that turn. I wonder which play is "better." From their perspective, resolving Thoughtseize to see our hand seems relevant, but so does saving the Spell Pierce to protect their own threats.
Hi Seth, not sure if you'll see this here, but it would be really funny if you can play mill or lantern control on the modern super league! The old team leagues were a ton of fun IIRC.
if you had solituded that azusa in response to the first amulet trigger i think he would have not been able to play two primetimes that turn. He lost anyway so it ended up not mattering i suppose
Rosewater says we'd have to charge more than what players would pay, but wizards say they don't acknowledge the secondary market. Can't have it both ways mark.
Reading chat's suggestions while brewing D&T was so funny. Dude believes Wedding Announcement is good enough for Timeless lmao. Then there is always that one guy who wants to add Yorion to every single deck. No wonder the average Magic player is terrible.
Don't understand why opt would be played in Miracles instead of otherworldly gaze. I get that opt can highroll into instant speed terminus, but it's so low odds. Gaze let's you look at up to six cards down with flashback. Seems like it would be better for stacking deck for counterbalance or digging for terminus.
Opt is a bad card in a Miracles deck. It doesn't help to set up your top decking at all. You're better off playing Telling Time or even 2 more copies of Brainstone.
I do not like historical figures in MtG. I think it ruins what little flavor it has left. It feels very out of place. I like the idea of Expanded Universe but not how it is executed. Expanded Universes should stick with fantasy settings. Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Old World, or Classic Fantasy Battle over 40k, for example. I would love to make a Skaven or Chaos Undivided deck.
