Awesome video. I’m a beginner harmonica player about a year into my musical journey. At this point I’m mostly using tabs but I really enjoy learning how to count bests, read music etc. I’m really enjoying the learning theory part too. This is all do fascinating to me. Unfortunately it took me til 56 to realize how much I enjoy this. But it’s all good. I’m glad I started when I did at least. Thanks again!!!

As I understand you, a simple way to internalize rhythm is to keep a steady pulse of 16th notes in the background mentally and then apply that to every pattern involving whole, half, quarter and eighth notes - this is a very understandable and usable method- thank you.
@cutchmaster
@cutchmaster 7 лет назад
Yes! Unless the song has very simple rhythms throughout and then I don't. But, as a general rule, it really helps to think of rhythms in the "4 parts to a beat" context.

Just a follow up note: I see that most of the comments are from individuals that already understand timing and notation, so I guess that I’m out of line. But whether or not you’re in the front of the class, or sitting way in the rear, my comments are very much valid. There’s more to be gained. Thanks

Are you interested in doing a video about understanding metronomes, particularly how to set a basic metronome to 2/2 or cut time???
@cutchmaster
@cutchmaster 7 лет назад
I am thinking of doing a video explaining how triplets work and I would include an explanation of time signatures-Simple Time (any thing with a 2, 3, 4 at the top) vs. Compound Time (anything with a 6, 9 or 12 at the top) and that would cover 2/2 time. Using a metronome would be a good idea. Thanks.
