The predecessors of countries can be open to interpretation. Some pre modern kingdoms or empires shown didn't necessarily have a flag as we think of it today either.

Yeah this time was just incredible, we made war against ottoman, we won, got independance and territory of the ottoman empire, we got more modernized than our old ruller. After that we lost a war against the ottoman backed up by the biggest europeans powers, lost our territories in asia and greece but still remained independent and conquered a lot of land in africa before failling under british rule. It was an incredible and interesting century for Egypt

The Kingdom of Benin has little to do with the modern day nation, especially since the Kingdom’s territory never extended into modern-day Benin, which back then would have been called Dahomey.

Egypt got more territory as Fatimid and the Mohamed Ali pasha campaign (Turkish-Egypto war) was bigger than the ottoman empire at there greatest extent. as the Ottoman at there greatest extent was 5.2 million km 2 while the Egyptian Mohamed Ali territory at there greatest extent was 5.4 million km 2.if anyone want has doubts in that i can explain more.

Carthage is sitted as Tunisia's greatest expansion, it's True they are not the same people nowadays but 90% of Carthage's cities remain inside the modern day Tunisia's territory including carthage the capital. All of the modern day Tunisian provinces are named after the carthagian cities who got their name Arabized a bit to fit. If it was included, Carthage would be the largest Empire on Africa's history :^)
