The woman dancing in this video is a very good dancer. Country swing is a lot of fun, and you don't have to be a professional dancer to have fun with it. One lesson and you are doing it, then practice and it gets better and better.

absolutely amazing. QUESITON, have you guys ever taken salsa, bachata, or forro clases? some of the movements and spins remind of these dances. I have never seen anyone dance country like that, it is truly mesmerizing, and both you guys are wonderful! the technique and grace of the girl are stunning

Although this is al lovely video and a lovely dance, imo the only country elements to it are the outfits and the music. Used to dance country linedancing for years and years and saw none of those steps. This looks like a combination of cuban salsa and west coast swing with lindy hop aerials. Beautifully executed though :D.

Some of the turns do look similar to Salsa patterns. The footwork reminds me hustle. I just wouldn't be so quick to say it's not country because it's not the same style you learned.

This is true of any dance those elements exist in every style of dance you can think of that you do with a partner but the problem is they are not rhythmic. There is such a thing as a country worldwide dance circuit and those dancers are rhythmic. This can be described as country bar dancing, Pony swing, country swing, or Country Fusion but it can't be described as good dancing as good dancing expresses basic rhythms at the very least.

THESE PEOPLE "GOT IT GOIN ON"!!!!! I use to take ballroom dance classes...its hard, but FUN! It helps when you have a strong male that can lead! These dancers are AMAZING and phenomenal to watch!! The female dancer has a perfect figure and all the right moves, the male dancer ( Donny?) is an INCREDIBLE LEADER and knows how to put her into the next move - WOW just WOW! SMOOTH AS SILK BABY! I was about to comment something similar :) I practice these dance moves back in 2013 with a friend I met in college, she didn’t know I have a crush on her lol it was so much fun dancing and practicing with her and till this day I still think of her ... would do anything to have nights like that again

Beatrice Hernandez Of course thats where they were taken from, its country dancing which was most prominent/originated in the south. Which the south was highly influenced by that type of heritage since the people who settled in Mexico moved north into the Texas/deeper south region and were prominently spanish. Its just an evolution of culture like everything else in the United States.

Is it weird that when my husband and I start drinking we start doing this stuff? It helps I’m half his size and did ballet but we’re usually messing around we don’t practice, he just starts the spinning, lifting, throwing, and dipping me and I’m just like “wheeeeeeeeee, I’m just gonna point my toes and trust him”

I just started line dancing classes. I've been doing them off and on since March. I want to start this and 2-step style. I don't know any ladies that are into it, but hopefully at the class, I'll find some that are willing to let a newb "dance" with them. I wonder how long it would take to get semi decent... Enough so, that I could walk up to any lady waiting for a partner, and be okay.

These are all the steps we use in Spain to dance latín dance, like salsa. For Country dance, the steps are veeeery different!!!! Anyway, nice performance

Are these choreographed or is there subtle cues that lets her know what comes next? Because I doubt if I learned these moves and found a women who could do the same, that we would be able to do these so fluently in say a club or something like that.

UItraVice Actually, there are cues that let the girl know what to do. There are competitions in dance where they even mix up partners and you dance with a stranger. These two are professionals, so they make it look effortless, but he's still communicating with her the entire time with his hands. You'll notice during the dance, there's always tension on the arms, that's so she will instantly respond to any push or pull he does to guide her. Fun stuff.

UItraVice yep! there are hand cues that basically start an entire movement :) so as long as the partner knows what they're doing, you can do this with a million other people :D there's a club where i live that we do this every friday/saturday. i don't know all these steps but a lot of the regulars do!

+UItraVice Yes and no, some moves can be lead and even a complete novice can follow, however some of the moves must be taught, usually in a dance class of some sort, some moves if a woman hasn't done them, can't be lead. There is also likely some choreography, though partners who dance together and took lessons together could just dance that way and mix up the patters in a random fashion. Much of this depends on partner experience.

i think this couple definitley had the best chemistry of the bunch. she looks smoother and more polished than the others. i know all these moves except for the dips, flips, and butt spin lol. the basic step isnt hard but i cant seem to find the timing of the music so i never really got into country dancing much but i like this song and watching them dance to it.
