Looks delicious here’s a lil tip that actually works if you lay a wooden spoon across the skillet the gravy will not boil over works for anything that you’re boiling and your hair is simply beautiful you look so young 🙏🏾💕
I just thought of a great habit for us people who love to cook: we should wipe containers, like condiment & oil bottles & spice containers off with an antibacterial wipe when we get home because people in the stores touch them stocking them. Other customers touch them and put them back. I just thought about that. Then we touch them after we have washed our hands and start touching the food. 😊
Hey Miss Donna, I absolutely love, love all your delicious recipes. I love how you talk and explain what you are doing step by step. I also think that your Home away from Home is Beautiful. I love the how both of you are Decorating. ❤❤
My mom made these growing up. We called it ghetto burgers, lol. We made our kind of different. We floured the hamburger patties and fried it in oil, than once it was cooked we took the dripping and made a brown gravy from it w/onions. Than we put our hamburgers back in the gravy until they got tender and soaked up all that flavor. Nothing ghetto about it though, lol. It is a very comforting meal, we always ate it with a side of mash potatoes and some kind of vegetables.
I made this delicious recipe for my family and they absolutely love it. Thank you for sharing this delicious recipe with everyone and may God bless you Friend.🙏❤
Thanks for the video. I love how your husband came in the video smiling. He has such a beautiful spirit. He definitely brought more light to the video.
Just made this last night from some frozen turkey meat. Was Excellent! ‘No pink ‘ rule applies here too. Made 7 patties out of the pound of ground turkey.
HI Y'ALL ARE SO REAL, YOU MAKE US FEEL LIKE WE'RE AT HOME WITH YOU. YOUR GRAVY REMINDS ME OF HOW MY MOTHER MADE HER GRAVY. JUST LOVE WHEN JAXON SAY BYE!!!!!!!. THANKS FOR SHARING, BYE!!!!!!!
Want to say I made this last night with mashed potatoes on the bottom when plating. My boyfriend ABSOLUTELY LOVED it and so did I! OMG...So good! He said, in order, my chicken breast recipe with asiago cheese is number one, this is #2 and the other dish I made from you, the rice and chicken is #3. Neve tried Better than Bouillon before and you have turned me on to that! Off to check your other videos! I am sure my personal recipe will get replaced soon. ha ha ha THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR SHARING! Sending your links/RU-vid channel to family and friends.
Sister Donna, your Country Style Hamburger Steak with Lipton Onion Soup Mix looks absolutely Mouth-Watering. Gravy with extra onions, and garlic powder ALWAYS Enhances my Burgers with Rice. Dude #1 and Jaxon ENJOY. 😋😋😋
Looks really delicious. I love making old fashioned homemade gravy with onions and mushrooms on mashed potatoes. I opened my mouth too😂😂 Hey little Jaxon! Tfs ❤
Thank you for the gravy tutorial. I am one of those who cannot seem to get gravy right. I like a thick gravy and you have explained to me what I need to do (create a slurry).
Thanks for the tips on the gravy. I'm 68 years old, and gravy is still a hit or miss for me. I miss my mom's gravy and biscuits, even more than the hamburger. Yummmmmy!!!!!❤
It was good to see Jaxon. He is growing so nicely. The Country Style Hamburger Steaks turned out well. They look tasty. You are a very detailed teacher and I appreciate it. I am learning a lot from you.
Thank you for the detailed instructions on making gravy. Although I have been cooking for 3 decades, gravy has never been my forte. It still intimidates me. I will be trying this recipe soon! I enjoy watching!
Heyyyyyy 👑 Donna, thank you for the class. I've never made gravy before. You have taught me a thing or to at the age of 74. This looks delicious! What are the side dishes? Of course Rice...My 👑 loves Rice... Thank you for sharing... until the next time...Byeeeeee!!!! ❤❤🎉🎉😅😅
Hello, I'm here by way of Ashley N. Richardson. (👋 Ashley) ooh weee, I bet that kitchen was smelling so delicious...Ur instructions are easy to follow. I will be doing this one for sure. TFS ❤😊❤😊❤
Love the idea you cook in cast-iron and how you made it looks so yummy so THANK YOU for sharing and looking forward to more interesting receipes from your kitchen!!
Yes Donna this is one of recipes I started making 3yrs ago. Great with homemade garlic buttery mash potatoes or just plain mash potatoes/ green vegetable.
Hi Donna. Exactly how I make mine. I do my slurry in the beginning. If it gets too thick I add the liquid. Same results. My husband loves these over egg noodles. I’m a rice girl. I’m like Dude#1. Rice. Rice. Rice.
YESS!!! I looove Lipton onion soup mix. U can use it in so many different dishes. I made these today. I also of course , used the Lipton onion soup mix, but I tried something new today, and instead of just adding bread crumbs I added milk to them, then added into my mix, with some smoked paprika.. onion, and garlic.. and I tell ya it was a hit. My daughter n hubby gobbled them right up. So if anyone ever wants to try something a bit diff. Try that smoked paprika and milk soaked bread crumbs. They were so tender and juicy. Just thought I'd offer my two cents in case anyone was interested.😂
I use a masher as well. I also use a hamburger patty former to form my patties. Of course the old fashion works great. Love that Lipton onion soup mix. Great Cook 🎉🎉.
I’ve been thinking about this for 2 weeks. Making it tomorrow and my husband is going to love it. He’s from Hawaii and definitely will have it over rice. Thank You Donna ♥️
Hello Mrs Donna and Dude #1 and Jaxson he is so sweet you are so blessed! Thank you for sharing your hamburger steaks they looked so delicious I wish I could eat them but I am on a diet trying to get healthy! You have a good weekend stay safe God loves you and so do I🥰❤️🙏🏻👩🏾🍳
Hi Mrs.Donna, I love your video, my kids and I are big fans of hamburger steak with gravy. Can I give you one quick option, you can use kitchen bouquet browning seasoning to make your gravy darker. 😊
Thank you for showing how to make gravy, I struggle with making gravy. I also loved how Jackson heard his mom come in and wanted to see her, but came back to the doorway and said By.
I just came across this video Ms. Donna! Thank you so much for sharing this because I have had a problem with my gravy for a long time. I have to slow it down and the tip on the flour slurry was a blessing! I love you guys and it's a pleasure to watch you guys ❤❤❤❤
Good evening Mrs Donna, I thought I replied to this video and I discovered that I hadn’t and fussed at myself. As you see I am commenting and giving a thumbs up. You will not believe this but my son-in-law asked my daughter to fix him some and she also cooked rice. I told her to add green beans and yeast rolls. I taught my girls how to make gravy from scratch. I have never used the gravy packets nor from the jar. My mom taught me how before she passed. I have those beautiful mom memories all the time. Great minds think alike. Blessings to you and Dude#1.
You said residue 😄 i know i forget some times myself but, its drippings. I have never added oil to my ground beef because it makes its own grease. Ive always made gravy from scratch. I also like adding pepper to it ♥️♥️🎉
Your husband is HILARIOUS!😂 This recipe is like how my Mom used to make it. I'm definitely going to try the recipe and cook it for her next time she comes to visit.
Miss. Donna, I agree about handling the meat, I personally use my kitchenaid, and I will form them with gloves. I just feel better. Maybe it will work for you. I'm just saying. 😊
Teach us some things! My mother made delicious Salisbury steak. I make good gravy, but I could never ace this one. You broke it down perfectly! I love that you including your family too!❤🙏🏾
Haven't made smothered hamburger patties in a while. Adding some sauteed mushrooms & red wine or sherry wine really kicks this recipe up a notch. Thanks for the reminder for this meal.
Hey Mrs. Donna. That gravy brings back memories when mom fried chicken, and she made dark brown gravy and then nestled the chicken back in it. I rinse my chicken and chops in a ziplock bag 2-3 times and then pat it dry when I cook them. The bag helps keep the splashing water from contaminating a lot of things, and i still bleach it down when i clean up. I have not heard of washing ground meats. Can you do a video of how you do yours? Hello Dude #1 and Cutie Pie Jaxon. God bless😊
Sherry from Chi-Town those look really delicious and I love your pictures in the bedroom yesterday it really looked nice everything matches and looks so pretty in your bedroom and I love your braids Miss Donna I'm scheduled for next Saturday to get my hair braided I usually do it around this time and wear them through the summer😊
Hey, Ms.Donna and DUDE #1 My goodness that looks SOOO Delicious, I'll definitely be making that tomorrow. Thank you for sharing ❤. LOVE y'all, sending Blessings to you and your family 💓 Stay safe and well GOD BLESS YOU ALL ❤❤🌹🌹💯💯🫶🫶🩵🩵💛💛🌷🌷🩷🩷🌺💜💜
I been carving this for a few weeks. Ma would cook this for me all the time till she taught me to make gravy and rice that's was a struggle! I dont cook soul food often Im always watching what I eat. It can get tiresome... But Baby Im making this in the morning when I get off work. Thanks for sharing!! P.S I bought a rice cooker last summer I eat even more rice than before.
Hi Mrs. Donna & Dude #1, I like the Lipton Beefy Onion soup mix and a little garlic in my burger mixture. You explain things so well and I like that so much. I’m with y’all on the well cooked meat; don’t give me no PINK in the middle.🤣 Love using my cast iron skillet too. This reminds me of how my Mama made gravy after frying chicken, and this is the only way I know to make gravy. Is his rice about ready because we know he loves his rice (me too)?😂😂 Looks delicious and I know it will taste the same. Hey Jaxon, hugs to Jaxon & Dimples! Enjoy & be blessed.❤
