There was a shortage of goods in the colonies of Great Britain, and the new king imposed additional taxes on 13 colonies. Discontent arose in them, so they declared independence and declared war on Great Britain, which they won and blocked all the southern territories. Following the War between France and Spain, France regained the colony in America, and in the first year of its ownership sold it to the United States.
