You'll be surprised to learn that Portugal was indirectly involved in WW2 when around 150-300 portuguese volunters went to fight in the Soviet front along side Germany. From those volunters, only 21 died and the germans were baffled by our man. António de Spínola was a military observer, in other words, he was making sure the portuguese soldiers weren't being sent to their death

7:09 aunque era neutral, Portugal si participó en la WW2. Primero Timor portugués (acutal Timor Oriental) fue invadido por australianos, motivo por el cual Salazar reclamó ante Churchill. Y luego fue invadido por japoneses, motivo por el cual Salazar reclamó ante España para que reclamase ante Hitler o Mussolini. Aunque no le hicieron mucho caso. En el caso de Macao los japoneses rodearon la ciudad en lugar de invadirla por lo que no hubo mas enfrentamientos en territorio portugués. Su ultima aportación fue la división verde que fueron voluntarios destinados como refuerzos para las defensas del sitio de Leningrado
