Plus the Japanese welcomed the United States Occupation over time, it was more preferable than getting split in two between two super powers who hated each other, plus they welcomed the rebuilding efforts and economic/defensive aid. It was almost infinitely better to them in their mind because, one Japan was Fascist and they are the complete opposite to communism on the political compass, so a democracy was better for them, so rather than shifting from one extreme to the other they chose something that didn’t completely changed the foundation of their economy.
