Side of the bike tent. The whole nine yards. Side of the road repairs. Sittin' on a curb and absorbing life. You have it figured out. Take care and keep on keeping on.

Awesome to see people use an old school map. I’m so damn spoiled with my phone… I hope you carry something to protect yourselves with out on the road and camping. It’s not just four legged predators you need to worry about these days.

Your videos are fun, and they are getting better :) Food in the tree also keeps it safe from mice, raccoons, etc.,but most importantly it keeps the bears and other critters away from you. It’s not fun to wake in the middle of the night to raccoons tearing a hole in your tent to get to a box of cookies. A little para cord helps with hanging the food in the tree, or putting up the tarp. I’m 66 and yeah, I also did a lot of learning the hard way. Back in the old days, we had to get a book to learn back country stuff the easy way. Now you have the internet. Look for ultra light back packing for ideas. You don’t need the really expensive ultra light gear because you’re carrying it on a motorcycle, but it will help you figure out what to bring, and how to use it. Oh, one more thing… a tent also helps keep you warm.

I have no idea of what either of you do for a living or of your interests. But given the area in which you travel, you might check out Nick Zentner's RU-vid Channel. He is a geology professor at Central Washington, University in Ellensburg, Washington and does a lot of videos on the geology of the area in which you are privileged to find yourself. I'll bet you both would find it very interesting. He has tens of thousands of subs and few of them are geologist (I'm an exception). Give him a view or two and you might become " Zentnerds " as his followers call themselves. And get tips on some great destinations, too.

I took my best riding buddy on this road. He got so mad at me and said some things so harsh that I rode off without him. In hindsight, if he don't like that road then we can't ride together...we haven't done anything together since that day. I miss him but still waiting for an apology..it's been about 5 years now.

Glad to see you use paper maps too. There's been more than a few comments to me when I am carrying my atlas into a restaurant to map out my destination. I do have a GPS on my bike and of course my cell phone. Just on my last trip I was going through Colorado and pulled out my atlas and started to look at it and noticed that the Colorado Rockies were not too far away. So I headed that way on a side trip.

congrats for handling the harley on those heavily grooved dirt tracks .... I would not venture with my Road King. The scenery and experience out there are unique ... there's nothing like that in Europe (at least South and Central)
