It's better. Dani and Ale share in the lullaby track. Ale is just so good at impersonating the sound of her sisters, especially Dani, it's hard to tell. Pau coming over the top though, brutally good.

The live version absolutely kills this version. Dany's vocals have so much more power behind them. Nothing against this version but it's completely outclassed by The Warning playing this live.

Pau's prayer works better than Dany's - it's more childlike and it creates the appropriate call-and-response atmosphere. You can find their set from Corpus Christi TX where *ALE* does the prayer so you get the best of both worlds: Dany singing the first verse (Alessia is very talented but her voice just can't convey the necessary menace needed for the song) and Ale providing the innocent child voice that sets up the INCREDIBLE "hush little baby" crescendo into the final chorus and climax.

Due to the pandemic, Alessia Cara was stuck in Canada and The Warning sisters were in Mexico with the producer Matt Squire. Matt brought Alessia's part in on his computer. The video was shot in Mexico, so they had to project Alessia's image on the walls, which actually came out great.

Great reaction! Alessia and the Warning have the same record label now and the International Manager suggested they do this song together after getting asked by Metallica, based on the cover 'The Warning' posted for their Grandparents to see when they were ages 9-14 that went viral with over 20 million views and an appearance on the "Ellen Show". But this was during the epidemic so a recording Engineer from their last album was sent to Canada to record where Alessia could not leave and get back in Country without a 2 a week quarantine, hence the projected image in the video. They did the arrangement, recorded, and did the video in their hometown of Monterrey, Mexico all in a week. It was an abandoned Textile Factory. It took the very famous Production, recording and mixing engineer David Bendeth from their last album a month or so to submit this to Metallica where it was chosen the First Track of 53 songs on the 7 albums total from that many artists. All proceeds went to charity.

Ooof, you are so close but yet so far... David Bendeth DID NOT produce nor record this song, he did mix it though (at his studio in New Jersey). Chris Smith produced and recorded the song from Mexico, he did not travel to Canada to record Alessia's part, that was done over Zoom while Alessia was in Canada and The Warning and Chris were in Mexico. Although the song was first on the Blacklist album it was because Alessia starts with an "A" so it was given first spot. Alessia and The Warning DO NOT share the record label they do share an international talent agent though, who was the one that suggested Alessia work with The Warning. Covid was a "PANDEMIC" not just an epidemic... there is a huge difference.

Tidbits...Pau the Drummer is not fond of any bug. She said when she was doing the prayer there was bugs crawling all over the Wall. Also the last room where they played the Rift was 125 degrees they could only spend a few mins. in it so it took them 4 times in the room to get the rift done.

Technically correct backstory, except Alessia Cara was the one Metallica approached. But since she doesn't do Rock/Metal she was apprehensious about doing it. Still, it was a huge opportunity, so she didn't want to pass it up. Her international management, which she shares with The Warning, made the suggestion to collaborate. It is a bit of a coincidence that this is the first track on the Blacklist album, since the order was alphabetical of the artists name and since Alessia's name starts with the letter "A"... The amazing thing about all this is they created this from soup to nuts in about ten days (seven days for the actual process of recording and mixing), and they did it remotely via the internet.

The Warning are the Villarreal Sisters from Monterrey Mexico they are. Daniela 23, Guitar, Piano, Lead Vocals Paulina 21, Drums, Piano, Lead and Back Up Vocals Alejandra 18, Bass, Piano, Back Up Vocals Dany, Pau, and Ale. In 2014 when they were 14, 12, and 9 years old they recorded a video of them playing a cover of Enter Sandman and posted on RU-vid, That Video went Viral and to Date it has over 24 Million Views, the Cover was so good Metallica liked It, Kirk Hammett commented "The Drummer Kicks Maximum Ass" that Cover put The Warning on the Map it got them Invited to Appear on The Ellen Show in 2015.

These sisters are awesome. Daniela (Dany, current age 23) on guitar and lead vocals, Paulina (Pau- 21) on drums and some lead vocals, and Alejandra (Ale- 18) on bass. They did a straight cover of Enter Sandman at ages 14,12, and 9, posted for family and friends, that went viral. 3 albums and several EP's, they have opened for artists like Foo Fighters, G'N'R', Muse, 3 Days Grace. Last summer for The Pretty Reckless and Halestorm ,where Dany was gifted a new custom Gibson Explorer onstage by Lzzy Hale. Matt Bellamy from Muse just recently gifted Dany a guitar as well. Dive into The Warning rabbit hole. Any of the 8 songs released so far from Teatro Metropolitan CDMX in August 2022. The Warning played a straight up cover of Enter Sandman in 2014. Metallica asked Alessia Cara to be on the Blacklist album. They approved the collaboration between Cara & The Warning. The only rule Metallica had for this album was do what you want. But the artist could not change the lyrics. Enter Sandman Live at Teatro Metropolitan (Mexico City) is version 2.0 of this version. The Warning took out the pop. And made a few other changes like Alessia Cara is a background singer on the backing track. Its very well worth reacting to.

I like The Warning a lot and they did a great job on this song along with Alessia cara, but I often see people not give Alessia Cara proper credit. The Warning had a week to rewrite and shoot the video. Aleesia was in Canada at the time so she recorded and videod her part there and sent it to the Warning, The rest of the Video was shot at a old factory in Monterey and Alessia's part added over it. I would recommend doing their song Disciple live from Teatro metropolitan CDMX.

I am a huge Alessia Cara fan and it was through her that I got introduced to The Warning! I love The Warning because to me they have filled a huge hole that I have been missing for years. I am 67 and The Warning has renewed my enthusiasm for Rock n Roll. As you go down The Warning rabbit hole you will love their rifts and melodies and the love and enthusiasm they bring to their music. This is IMHO how a good cover should be. The artist/band that does the cover should not try to just copy the original, but they should give it their own twist. Yet, the song should remain immendiately recognisable. BTW. Maybe you should make covers a recurring topic on your channel like "cover time" or whatever you could call it and specially invite people to make suggestions.

The Blacklist album songs were put in the same order as the Black album, so ES was first. Then, the artists who recorded each song were put in alphabetical order, since Alessia was placed before TW, this put their version of ES first and the first song overall. This was recorded during covid so Alessia was in Canada, TW were in Monterrey MX, and David Bendeth who mixed the song was in New Jersey and they arranged, recorded, mixed, and submitted their version of ES in 10 days. Notice they substituted the guitar solo for the 3 part ascending recitative. This being said, this was the best song from the Blacklist album so it is appropriate for it to be track 1 on CD 1.

There is certainly something operatic about how both Metallica and The Warning arranged "Enter Sandman", and most of TW's originals are crafted with the same verse > pre-chorus > chorus > release compositional style used by Great American Songbook composers like Porter and Berlin and the Gershwins, but with the flamboyance of Queen and AC/DC and Pink Floyd. Now let's see them do metal versions of the Queen Of The Night's arias!

They have live music from a concert in Mexico that was professionally mixed. I think they up to 6 or 7 songs from that concert. They slowly drop a song every once in a while. You had a brush with The Warning before. Intriguing that you didn't immediately jump into their rabbit hole that goes back more than a decade to their classical piano playing days as 6 - 8 year olds. Nevertheless should you decide to revisit the girls then the following might be of interest to you. A band records its 2nd full album in 2018, a concept album called Queen of the Murder Scene when the members were 18, 16 & 13 year old. An year earlier the drummer, Paulina, going through her emo phase in middle school tabled the 1st draft, in front of her sisters, dealing with unrequited love, self harm & lunacy. To keep it in context Roger Waters mused over despair, death & lunacy in The Dark Side of the Moon exactly 5 decades back from today. Had it been the 70s these girls would have been a household name just by publishing that concept album, second only to Dark Side. But sadly intellectualism is dead in music nowadays. So nobody knows about Daniela, Paulina & Alejandra from Monterrey, Mexico. Today nobody cares about what a band is saying through their songs because gimmicks, mindless guitar & drum solos & hoarse screaming is the face of rock. Intelligence of the 60s, 70s, 80s is gone. However, The Warning has provided us fans, who have stopped listening to music for decades, with hope. Hope that rock isn't dead yet. Hope that intellectualism is still there in people. The most intellectual band to emerge in decades every song by The Warning should be listened to with reference to its lyrics, its innate message & the back story if any. Their profound metaphorical takes on today's society have united fans from all over the world.

Hello fellow Canadians. In my opinion, Choke and XXI Century Blood are the two The Warning songs that are best in official music video/studio form. Basically all the rest of their stuff is better live. I don't know exactly why, but their vocal harmonies, stage presence and sound engineering for the guitar doubling and bass doubling really give the live performances some extra oomph. I'd recommend anything that they've posted on their main channel this past year from their Teatro Metropolitan show, but my personal favorites from what they've released so far would be Disciple, Dust to Dust, Money, Enter Sandman and Martirio.

Three sisters from Monterrey, MX. They started in 2012. They became The Warning in 2013. Today they are Dany, guitarrist 23, Pau, drummer 21, and Ale, bassist 18. In 2022 they did over 100 gigs in North and South America along with Halestorm, the Pretty Reckless, and Three Days Grace. Earlier this year they did four shows with Muse in Mexico. They recently finished 18 shows on the first US leg of their world tour. They just finished concerts throughout Europe including opening for Muse five times. Many of these had 30-60 thousand fans in attendance. They will open twice for Guns N’ Roses in September during their second US tour this year and also have two shows planned in Mexico for the Fall. In February of 2024 they will play during a rock cruise. All three are classically trained pianists and Dany & Ale can play sax. All three sing lead and background vocals. They were inspired by the video game Rock Band and two of their songs are available on Rock Band IV. They appeared on the Ellen Show in 2015. They are fully bilingual as they attended a bilingual Catholic school in Monterrey, Liceo de Monterrey. But later they all graduated high school through home schooling due to their touring schedule. They attended Berklee College of Music Summer Program in Boston in 2015. They started as a cover band. Their cover of Enter Sandman lauched their career. They now have 47 original songs in an EP, three albums, and two singles. No bad songs. Their newest single, More, was released May 12th. They have a rich collection of live videos, music videos and lyric videos on their channel. There are also vlogs and individual performances. Any video from last August’s concert at the Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City is perfection! When not performing they are humble down to earth individuals. Dany is a goofball and sweetheart, Pau talks with passion like a machine gun, and Ale is an introvert and a perfectionist. When you fall down The Warning rabbit hole, you can’t go back!

Good reaction, as always, I really like your vibe and personalities. This is one of my favourites by them, and I do consider this song to be TW original, it is that different, and it's great, and I think Alessia does a good job. Now maybe do the live version at Teatro Metropolitan last year? It's even better than the MV, in my opinion, but then again, every video they have released from Teatro Metropolitan has been great. And I'm sorry, but whenever I hear someone say Enter THE Sandman instead of Enter Sandman, it's like sharp nails on a blackboard to my ears 😆

The reason that it's first on the album is almost surely more prosaic: Enter Sandman was the first track on the Black Album, and the tracks on the Blacklist are all in that order; within the Enter Sandman tracks, Alessia Cara's name is first in alphabetical order, and again, that's the case for the rest of the album. That said, the Blacklist definitely saves the best for first. It's the only Enter Sandman on the Blacklist that really does reinvent the song. There are other indications, though, that Metallica likes this. Fox Sports used this for a month just after release, allegedly because Fox asked Metallica if they'd be willing to record it, and Metallica pointed them at this; also, a Marvel video game used parts of this for their trailer for the game prior to the release. Certainly in the latter case, someone from the Metallica camp had to have pointed them at this. They always perform this live; it's heavier and has some minor adaptations, in particular Dany (Daniela, guitar) reciting rather than Pau, which she expresses very differently. Ale (Alejandra, bass) has done it once in concert; she did it more like Pau. I believe that most of The Warning Army prefers the live version, which is normally the case with The Warning: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vg9vNE7gm0I.html I think this is brilliant, and it's what I think of as Enter Sandman. I think it's a much more interesting song. My own favorite part is the buildup out of the recitative that culminates in Take My Hand, except in full time rather than half time. They actually play the riff a little differently from the original, most notably that Pau takes a much more active role in the melodic line rather than simply setting the beat.

I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Alessia very sweetly puts you to bed, then Dany rouses the troops, Pau shares a little prayer, and the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the tale. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one.

As a former patron of The Warning, I had access to the 'making of' music videos for Enter Sandman, as well as Disciple, Evolve, and a couple others. Their decision to shoot this in monochrome was a stroke of genius, as far as setting the creepy mood of the song, and worked out equally as well for projecting Alessia's image on the walls, as she sang the intro and various parts later on. It also set things up for that creepy Addams Family-esque mood when Pau did the little prayer halfway through!!💀😄👍👍

They cover the song in 2014 one year after they started the band, and this cover has almost 25 million views and they were 9,12 and 14, and kirk Hammett said they were bad ass, and that the drummer kick ass... check it out

I'm late to you're reaction. Love it BTW. I refer to the drummer respectively, and affectionately as Kung Pau!! (That's a Seinfeld reference). These sisters are absolutely amazing. I know, because my sisters love them too. I was so grateful to introduce this talented band to them and hear they rock out to them. They are all older than me, and I am way older than this band. HaHa :)

It’s a little hard to track down, but Alessia actually reached out to The Warning to collaborate on “Enter Sandman”. Check out Old Time Music: The Meaning Behind The Song. In at least one interview, the sisters said the invitation came through 10 days before the deadline. It was COVID time but they and Allesia pulled it off. I think they talked about this in their interview with Allison Hagendorf, or maybe it was somewhere else.

Hell yeah! Pau beats those drums like they owe her money.🤘🏻 All of the live tracks from the concerts suggested are fantastic. On another note, if you’re not familiar with the Vancouver band Unleash the Archers, you should definitely check them out. I subbed, I love your vibe and adore these amazing ladies! Have yall done any OMF stuff? It's a non profit music school for kids. 46 and 2 by kids is great, as are both the Kiĺlswitch Engaged songs, Little Sister from the movie Lost Boys, Bodies, Newbreed?, Duality.. the list goes on

Není co dodat, snad jen, že Alessia je pro rockery naprosto neznámé jměno, takže tento výběr šel mimo kapelu, byla DOPORUČENA od nahrávacÍ společnosti - přesto se to povedlo! Alessia nic nepokazila, byla tam ostatně jen necelou polovinu písně! 😆 Ale - a není to jen můj názor, ale i muzikantů z reakcí zde na YT - je to nejlepší cover Metallicy, co kdy vyšel na světlo světa! 👍 Ti metaloví pozéři nemohli získat lepší reklamu, než od The Warning - protože ony jsou budoucnost rocku! 🥰 I was going to respond more, but I scrolled through the comments to avoid repeating myself and found that @brianproctor411 already wrote you all 2 months ago! Nothing to add, except maybe that Alessia is a totally unknown name to rockers, so this selection went outside the band, she was RECOMMENDED by the record company - yet it worked! Alessia didn't mess anything up, she was only there for less than half the song anyway! 😆 But - and this is not only my opinion, but also the musicians' opinion from the reactions here on YT - this is the best Metallica cover ever released! 👍 Those metal posers couldn't have gotten better publicity than from The Warning - because they are the future of rock! 🥰
