my personality changes for every comeback like i was so bubbly and youthful during hypeboy and attention and when ditto came out i was brooding and looking out of windows and at the sky jesus 😭

What’s crazy to me about the thing where they look at each other while dancing is that they definitely have practiced doing that. They make a conscious effort to do it while also making the choreo look flawless. The girls can DANCE.

New Jeans Debut was so brilliant. Attention dropped out of nowhere and got everyone hyped but we knew nothing about the members. A little 1 minute hype boy teaser came out which gave you links to the individual member videos and introduced them to the world. Their first album is so dope.

Hype Boy MVs are about love in different ways and how sometimes when you hype someone it's disappointing because it's not the real person, you are idealizing that person in your head: Hanni was in love with no face (a dancer / idol) thinking it was a guy but at last she gets a bit disappointed because it was a girl. Hyein was in love with that artist / asmathic guy, always cool but lonely in general, but then when she got to meet him she saw hi mocking her and her friends's choreo so she also got disappointed. Minji was in love with that guy because he was straightforward and was fun and cool to her but then she saw him with more numbers written on his arm so it wasn't something special because he was like that with other girls too, so she was disappointed. And finally, Danielle and Haerin were having something with that basketball guy, that guy gave Danielle and Haerin a heart lollipop, then in the skatepark Danielle and Haerin were able to see their messages and the same guy was playing with both girls so they decided to keep their friendship and get away from that guy, so they were disappointed of that guy. Everything is open to interpretations (especially the Minji's one because I'm not completely sure about it, but I got that feeling, with the other MVs I'm sure about those interpretations).

I agree with you when it comes to Hyein / Blue Cap and Danielle & Hearin / Basketball guy. They were both jerks and let the girls down. I only have a minor disagreement with the other 2 though. Yes, there was some disappointment because they ended up not getting a boyfriend, but they did seem to become friends at the end so it was all good.

@@keithcraig506 that's true, I meant that it was disappointing for them because they thought differently about them, I wasn't meaning they hated it, it's just they didn't meet the expectations NewJeans had in mind (and love is all about expectations on yourself and the others). That stuffed doll in the back of Hyein’s version is Gizmo, from the 80s movie Gremlins. If you feed his species (called Mogwai) after midnight, the cuddly creatures turn into scary gremlins. And I’m pretty sure the female doll above it is the bride of Chucky.
