They are known for their Xmas music and 80% of their Xmas songs will be reimagined in a way you've never heard before. A good example is the typically annoying 12 days of Xmas. Their version made me like the song again. Their twist on the song kicks in on the 6th day thru the end...🔥🔥🔥

Thanks for reacting to this fun Pentatonix medley. They have several Evolution Of... videos. My favorite is "Evolution Of Rihanna". A lot of people love the "Evolution of Beyonce" video. Kevin does even more incredible beatboxing in that one.

What's amazing about the Evolution videos is that they are filmed straight through in one shot! They do a few filmings and then decide which one is the best!

yes!!! great reaction. the rhythm section consisting of Kevin Olusola (beatboxer/percussion) and Avi (pronounced Aw-Vee) Kaplan who is the basso profundo and the guy in the front with the beard. Avi also supports Kevin with EDI sounds and overtones as needed. They are great friends and were roommates. If you go way back and watch the baby pentatonix from the singing competition called the sing off (which is where they first came together as a band) you will see that the judges nicknamed Kevin and Avi the meat and potatoes of the group. The trio Scott Hoying, Kirstin Maldonado and Mitch Grassi grew up together in Texas. Avi left the band amicably in late 2017 and has a solo career. Matt Sallee is the current bass. Not as low as Avi but smooth and chill. PTX won 3 Grammys in their earlier years with Avi. If you have not reacted to Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy (their second Grammy win) this would be a great holiday song to react to. For that one PTX said no instruments, no words.....no problem. ;)

Yes, dear, you did get Mitch-slapped in the last video. We have all been there. The first time I heard Mitch sing was in their cover of Hallelujah. He wears a wide-brimmed hat in that one, and I couldn't decide if he was a man or a woman! Eventually we learn to recognize that amazing voice and look for it to wow us again. Sometimes he does, and sometimes he leaves the spotlight for the other PTX members, who are all extremely talented in their own right. I have a soft spot for the deep, rich tones of Avi, their original bass singer. He was in this older video. Your man clearly appreciates the musical skill of Kevin, their beatboxer. Kevin also plays concert-level cello, sings in a surprising tenor range (as he did in this video), and writes music and beautiful lyrics. Kirstie adds that unmistakable female voice, and of everyone in the group, she may be "most improved" over the years. She was so powerful in "The Prayer." If you want to hear her solo, listen to the cover of "Say Something." Scott is technically a baritone, but his range is phenomenal. He can hit highs along with Kirstie, and then takes over the base line when their bass singer is doing a solo. Each member is an accomplished soloist, but when they come together they let the song decide who needs to sing each part. I love how they step out of the way for each other to allow each of them to shine. Thanks for another Pentatonix reaction. I hope you do more. Their Daft Punk medley won them their first Grammy.

Great choice for Jai's second Pentatonix video. Looks like she's going to a Scott stan! There's a wonderful live version of this as part of the Popspring 2016 concert festival in Japan. I'm looking forward to you two discovering more PTX videos.

Y'all can do some of the true Pentatonix Early Hits like "Hallelujah" or "Mary Did You Know" if you truly want to enjoy their harmony back when. For some newer songs I would go with "Havana" or even "Sing" for some newer but not too new material that still is ear candy. Peace to the whole Fam!!!
