This is one of my favorite songs by Wagakki Band, but I think the 2017 Dai Shinnenkai live video has much better sound quality and Yuko's voice is so much clearer. You should check it out. After this, I think you would like a couple of other great live songs, such as Ame Nochi Kanjauron, Sasemeyuki, and Hangeki No Yaiba (2018.1.27 Yokohama Arena). This last video has a fantastic performance by a troupe of Kenshibu Sword Dancers, of which Yuko Suzuhana is an instructor in Kenshibu. It is well worth the time taken.
As they gradually moved away from the origin, which made their music sophisticated, but I am afraid, the sparkle of the early days gradually disappeared. I'm still a fan of WGB.
I can see you haven't really reached their ballads yet. Equally as, if not even better, than their hyped songs. Nijiro chouchou, Overture+ Okinotaiyuu, Izana, Tori no youni, Sabaku no komoriuta, Queen of the night, Atena no nai tegami, Fuurin no utautai, Sasameyuki (semi-ballad?).
Your comparison to BabyMetal was right on point. I have watched several amazing Japanese groups perform in concert, but only Wagakki Band can rival BabyMetal when it comes to putting on a spectacular show.
