The Bob Ross of 2K21 course designer

This really is the hardest part of the designer to master for me. Now that I'm two weeks in to my first course, I'm using the info I gained in this great tutorial to go back and tweak several holes. The key is as you say - very gentle fuzzy brush adjustments, a couple yards at a time. Thanks Crazy, these are really great!

Definitely an area I need to improve on. I lack the patience to flatten a little portion at a time to get that gradual elevation but seeing the results you get from it has me sold on the technique. You’re fairways terrain has a lot less of those micro bumps than I do.

I like using the sculpt flatten and raise tool before ever starting my routing. I can lay fwy and greens that take on the contours of the existing terrain. It becomes more natural and there’s less landscaping involved

These have been helpful. Thanks. Im making courses called 'AmCup'. as in Amateur Cup. They all have some spectators who will watch play on holes near the clubhouse. Many of the holes have no spectators as you move further from the club house etc. Lots of fun, still much to learn.

Great videos and concise explanations. Very helpful and thank you for the time and effort to make our lives easier. Pardon my ignorance but other than playing with the different brushes, is there a guide that gives a better definition of each brush use? For example, first brush tabletops, it seems, and fuzzy brush is not as severe and more related to existing environment. Just curious. Experimenting is fun but as a newbie, a little daunting, trying to decipher all of the brushes.

Great video, this is the one I needed because this is the hard part. What I noticed was that you use big, big fuzzy brushes whereas I was trying to do everything with tiny, not fuzzy brushes, piece by piece. Now I should be able to make some progress. Secondly, any tips as to getting the grass to meet the water? Your grass seems closer to the water than mine is whenever I put water down. Is that theme dependent?

Hey I've watched all on the Course Design 101 videos. They are awesome! I love doing this kind of stuff and have spent HOURS in course design. One thing I can't seem to figure out...... Just like you can create mulch for a tree/plant area, I'm building a Vegas Desert Course and I can't figure out how to add SAND. Do I have to use "Bunkers" for this? I hate how it changes the colors of ALL the bunkers. Help! Please! Thanks again for your stuff its $$$

The worst bit of sculpting for me was sorting out the land around a retaining wall. Everytime you flatten the land something almost always appears out the other side of the wall.

Is it possible to create/sculpt an archway or tunnel into course design at all? And is there a bug in designer right now not letting us brush fill or place fairway grass in certain places?

I am trying to design an X Box. When I make any elevation changes. I can only make them one button push at a time and it doesn’t change the measurement reading. Very slow and inefficient. Any insights?

You do all of that and then get a blue screen so save save save. Its still happening in developer 2k21..not a good feeling when you do alot of work just to get deleted..

Odd that you used the Landscape Raise brush to Lower land sometimes? I'm not being sarcastic, I've just never seen that before.
@Crazycanuck1985
@Crazycanuck1985 4 года назад
Why is that odd?
@OTCRock4one
@OTCRock4one 4 года назад
@@Crazycanuck1985 Because the name "Lower" vs. "Raise" when you think of lowering something, normally one would use something that has the name "Lower". And as I said in the comment, I've never seen that before.
@Crazycanuck1985
@Crazycanuck1985 4 года назад
@@OTCRock4one well, there is no landscape lower button. I use the raise tool to lower large amounts, then the flatten tool to fine tune.

Yep, a problem I've had with no solution in sight! Ended up deleting the entire hole, but still the green, bunkers, and fairway remains from the deleted hole. Created a new hole okay to replace it, but the all the graphics of the deleted hole is still displayed. Hope he gets around to answering your question soon.

@@scotttild I made my course with the PS4. Yeah, certain aspects seemed very clunky. My course seems to play ok-ish and aesthetically could look a bit better. First course I have ever made on any of the Golf club games though. Rolling Forest is the course if you wanted to check it out.
