Sweet pool area. It looked just a little fancy. Nice explore. It just shows that newer building construction is not as good as the older constructed buildings. Beautiful furniture in those offices.
Hi Marlo, good morning to you. I love the pool area. I agree, for a short time of that place being closed it has deteriorated quickly. the palm trees are beautiful and surprisingly, still growing. Thank you for sharing dear, stay safe on your adventures.
I had read there was also an underlying issue with mold, the dome, I believe acts as a greenhouse since there is no power for air conditioning to move the air, the moisture speeds up the decay. The pool area was definitely my favorite area of this hotel. Thank you for checking it out my friend 🙂
Hi there I came across your channel it’s nice to see more women explorers like my self I remember seeing this abandoned hotel in other RU-vid channels can’t believe it still stands at some point it should be torn down.
Hello & welcome ☺️ thank you. These places are definitely wasted spaces and sadly take years to come down, was definitely fun to check it out though, before it’s demolished.
Awesome video, Marlo! Just got a new computer after 3 weeks of waiting to see if it could be fixed! Was having major computer and RU-vid withdrawals lol I have ALOT of videos to catch up on 😀 Such a shame what mold can do to a place! It looked great backin its day. Have a great week my friend! 💜
I was going to send a search party on your azz if i didn’t hear from you bt the weekend, was going to text you and see if you were okay. Wayyy cool!!! New computer!! Enjoy it.. glad to hear about your upgrade my friend and glad you’re okay. 😁
@@ExplorewithmeMarloC Thanks lol If only I could remember my passwords then I might enjoy this computer more but as luck would have it, I cant remember my facebook pass word lol Until then, I will be watching youtube 😜
Haven’t watched this yet but I wanna say: I went to a furcon here from 2010-19. Hotel closed 74 days after I was last there! Place is in my blood. Lots of memories. About when we’re u there? I was there 8 months ago. Took hundreds of pics. The piano’s lid was still on. Anyway, I think I’m gonna enjoy this! 💕
That was amazing Marlo! To have that much decay in such a short time, there was definitely something going on... anf those rooms with the upstairs how cool!! That one with the dust was truly apocalyptic! Great explore Marlo have a most amazing day my dear friend!!
Just a little nugget of useless knowledge from an old fart like myself those old western-style doors you were speaking of...believe it or not they were often referred to as "batwings" back in the days of the west. I only say this as I have read quite a few old western novels and such and they refer to them as batwings. Oh, the useless info in my warped brain lol. Thanks for the video! As someone who has had experience as a General Manager of a Franchise hotel, this was interesting. Thank you!
Unreal how quickly decay sets in a short amount of time. Love the after and before shots, really shows the amazingness of this place. Gosh! Can you imagine waking up to being kicked out of the hotel? Just out of the blue?! I would probably stumble my way out like ... A silly Natureman 😂 ... But I would have to tickle the piano keys before I left lol ... Great explore my friend, always enjoy the experience with you 🤠🌲🍃💚
I wonder if people who had extended stay got any money back.. I’m guessing no. The place is literally rotting away fast. Always appreciate you my friend and thank you for checking it out. ☺️
Hi Marlo! Cool intro! It is indeed amazing how much decay there is so quickly. I agree that it looks like somewhere in Europe. It's always a shame when a piano or other musical instruments are left behind to ruin. I always think of schools' music departments that would love to have them. I know they're just prints, but the paintings and those frames are beautiful, especially the one at 6:16. I'm surprised the batteries in that coffee machine were still running! Those old style dial type elevator floor indicators were very cool! It's interesting the hotel was sort of European themed and there were Old West saloon doors at the bar! 😆The room you said looked like where you got sent for punishment reminded me of the many conferences I had to attend for work through the years. Believe me, having to sit in those chairs, and watch and listen to a PowerPoint presentation for hours was indeed punishment! 😂I had never thought of it, but I think your theory about the crazy pattern carpets in hotels is very plausible. It would certainly make sense to have a pattern that would conceal stains until housekeeping had a chance to clean it. That room that was like an apartment was really cool! It was really something seeing the beds still made and they still looked clean! If I were homeless in the area, I would be there! It's interesting the palm trees and other plants are still living. I wonder where they're getting water? It's a shame this once beautiful place has been left to just decay. I really liked the before and after photos! It's too bad someone hasn't bought it and reopened it. I don't know if it would be worth it now with all the visible damage to the building which undoubtedly means more unseen damage. This was quite the place in its day. Thank you for taking me along! I really enjoyed it!
Hello, good morning. The hotel, i read… had some underlying mold issues as well as tax & permit problems. It ALWAYS kills me to see things that could of been reutilized or repurposed 🥲 I think the plant life is still thriving due to the “greenhouse” effect of the glass dome without any circulated air being pumped. I has read that casino’s like to use crazy carpet patterns to keep your eye busy and keep it moving so maybe that’s the same theory in hotels… plus the distraction of stains. I always appreciate your time in commenting and your observations, thank you. Have a great week 🙂
@@ExplorewithmeMarloC You're very welcome and good morning! With mold and tax/permit problems, it sounds like the owners were trying to run it on a shoestring. It's too bad it was allowed to get into that condition, but I feel the same way when I see something that could still be used. I come from a "fix-it" era when everyone fixed what they had until it couldn't be fixed anymore instead of just buying new as many do now. That glass dome does make a great greenhouse! I had never heard that about why casino's use such carpet patterns. I think you're most likely right about why. I just never really thought about it before other than wondering just where they found carpet like that! 😆I hope you have a great week too!
