Tonight, the queen holds a banquet that everyone will attend. Will they leave a good impression? Backstabbing is fair game, and no trick is too dirty if it allows you to place your favorite families in the spotlight.
In Courtisans, you receive and play three cards on each of your turns. One is played at the Queen's table to sway a family's influence, whether in a positive or negative manner. The two other cards are played in your domain and in an opponent's domain, and they can be worth positive or negative points, depending on their family's status at the end of the game. Choose where best to place your three cards if you want to end up with the most points and win.

5.0 - My absolutely favorite games. You can pry them out of my cold dead hands.
4.5 - Love this game! At the same time missing something that would make it a 5. Could be hard to table, lacking variability, a little light, etc.
4.0 - Really great game, almost always keeping, although has meaningful complaints as to what takes away from the experience.
3.5 - Really enjoyed, don't love it, may lose out to better games but the idea of never playing again is a bit sad.
3.0 - A good game, would play and suggest with the right people, if I never played it again wouldn't lose any sleep.
2.5 - A game I'd play again , but will never suggest it myself
2.0 - A game I don't want to play again
1.5 - A game I can't find any reason to recommend
1.0 - A game that is just bad.

Just bought this and it's now my best "tiny rules, big strategy" game. I just have two comments, first is that I think Spies mostly remove (or at least heavily dilute) the last player swing. Playing a Spy does a better job of upending players' plans than having the last move, that last set of cards is much less impactful when the board is now full of hidden information. Secondly, I think the two player game is really solid and much less random. It loses a little of the unpredictability as you only work against one player, but it removes the dogpiling and does a really good job of allowing a real duel as you mess with each other's court. Spies and Assassins really play well in this version. It feels like Azul, in that the strategy changes so much when you go from 3+ players down to 2, it feels like a different game. Really enjoying it

I did't play the game so maybe I am missing the flow, but wouldn't it be possible during the ''final round'' if every player just played 1 card each (till they empty hand)? To give the infamous last player slightly less power on the overall game.
