Hey Lar. Welcome back for another Courtney reaction. There's a lot of ground to cover when reacting to Courtney's music, but the one thing you can always count on, is that whatever she's singing, it will be amazing. As has been mentioned, Courtney first rose to worldwide fame when she appeared on America's Got Talent (AGT) in 2018 when she was 13. While on AGT, Courtney sang exclusively classic rock from the 60's and 70's by the likes of James Brown, Tina Turner and Janis Joplin. After AGT, those that knew her from only there, viewed her as this fabulous stage dominating rocker, which she surely is. However, she is so, so much more. Her vocal power, control and range is astounding. So in 2019, she released an EP called the 'Cover Sessions' where she took some of the biggest recent hits across different genres, and re-invented them into her vision. They were all sensational. The purpose was to highlight both her incredible vocal versatility and her off the charts creativity. 'Sucker' is one example. She took the original Jonas Bros. pop version and turned it into this Funk masterpiece. Another is 'Old Town Road', where she turned the original Country/Hip Hop version by Little Nas into a true Rock anthem. There are also two gorgeous ballads on the EP, 'Sign of the Times' and 'Someone You Loved') that highlight Courtney's exquisitely beautiful softer voice. All of the songs from the 'Cover Sessions' EP' are available on Courtney's RU-vid channel. Suffice it to say, Courtney's versions sound nothing like the originals. She truly made them all her own. Courtney will only sing a cover when she has her own vision of how a song could have, or should have, been sung. She will never imitate anyone. So, when preparing to listen to a Courtney cover, always expect the unexpected. I have yet to come across anyone who has heard both the original massive hit versions of the EP songs and Courtney's versions, that didn't think Courtney's version blew the originals completely out of the water. As to the song 'Sucker' itself, Courtney's rendition is incredible. The best term I can think of to describe it is 'infectious'. It simply demands that you move with it. It doesn't allow you to stay still. It puts a smile on your face, a bounce in your step and raises your mood for the rest of the day. Any song or artist that can do that is pretty special, and Courtney is as special of an artist that you will ever come across. Once in a generation, if we're lucky.
All 4 of these songs in this setting are better than the originals, Sign Of The Times is my favorite! You can't go wrong with Courtney! I see you done Angelina and Diana but not Daneliya Tuleshova you need to check her out 1.51m subs and she's my #1 young pop singer, her mash-up of SkyFall and Toxic is genius. Second the motion regarding DANELIYA (Ms. Daneliya Tuleshova, 17), especially her tracks "MAMA" and that mashup of "Skyfall+Toxic" and her MANY great pop music covers. I'm still convinced that amongst the truly amazing number of truly good-to-great singers popping up in GenZ, that three young ladies stand above the rest, have that 'something' more that I can't seem to describe, than the others: Ms. Courtney, Ms. Angelina, and Ms. Daneliya. Their performances are not only GREAT, there's just something 'More' about each of their performances. Ms. Courtney STRONGLY reminds me of both Ms. Tina Turner and of the inimitable Freddy Mercury in the energy her audiences feel. In another way, she's so very down-to-Earth and reminds me of Keith Urban, with his many 'Entertainer of the Year' awards, too. We shall see.
This is an original Jonas Brothers song that she made a Courtney song. I love all of Courtney's work except perhaps "Call Me Back". However, I found its strength when one reactor could not stop crying after listening to it. I have not seen her fail yet.
You should seriously check out her version of Old Town Road from this set of recordings. If you thought that this was amazing, be sure to make sure your socks are firmly attached to your feet, they will be blown off.
Also note that iirc Old Town Road was the fourth and final cover track recorded during this interruption of her work on getting her own original debut album worked up back in late 2019 before pandemic and other disruptions put her career on 'Hold'. So when she does that mic drop at the end of that track, it's sort of the exclamation point on her PROVING to critics and doubters that, yeah, she can sing like others do, SHE JUST DOESN'T WANT TO!! At least that's my take on it. ymmv.
Lar, thanks for going back and reacting to this older track from Ms. Coutney Hadwin's 'Cover Sessions' EP! I think it's a particularly great example of just how different her way is from the crowd, how far she's gone back to the true ROOTS of Rock'n'Roll and of modern music. It's phenomenal, imho. Until we can see this phenomenal young artist LIVE (i.e., when Goldenvoice gets a clue and invites her to their big Rock celebration out in Coachella), I just have to keep going back to her performance in January of 2019 where we finally saw the fully polished (imho) and SHOW-READY Courtz on AGT: The Champions! She was still 14 then (July birthday).

Unfortunately yes, I tried doing it different ways and youtube kept blocking it. What pisses me off is that other people did the same song and they didn't get blocked
Yes. It's both VEVO and those four cover songs are all copyrighted and strictly enforced by owners and by RU-vid. Ms. Courtney's originals are also all copyrighted, but as an independent musician, no longer under contract to a 'label', she WANTS as many people to hear them (responsibly, via YT or streaming where she gets paid a tiny pittance for each thousand times we all listen) as possible, so she doesn't ding 'Reaction' videos for her originals. This business of Ms. Courtney pulling herself up by her bootstraps is HARD WORK. But, like her heroines, she's doing it!
@@Lar-Reacts I'm with you about some videos of hers not getting blocked. It makes no sense why some reactors get these Vevo videos of Courtney through without filters and others don't. And there's quite a few reactions to these that have not been blocked in the past and present. Hopefully you will react to Courtney's videos more. I'd recommend a few, but I seem to not be able to get my posts shown when I put in links. I also hope you will go with her more recent songs only to help her new music get promoted some. Her pre-independent stuff is fantastic, and we all love them, but her new music is hers and her co-writer/producer Kevin's all to themselves. No label robbing them.
