I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some great coaches, mentors and players over the years so I want to share some of the things I’ve learned with you here at The Steve Smith Cricket Academy.
I hope you’ll enjoy watching some of my Tutorials & Top Tips, Technique and Fitness suggestions as well as hearing some psychological advice because cricket is both a physical and mental game.

Arguably the hardest shot to time perfectly. We've seen legends do it like Virat, Root, Kane, and of course Steve! The shot that I've wanted to perfect for ages, thanks Sir. All the best for the T20 world cup (Though if you play against India, sorry)

i wish i could ask smith one day about how he finds the right balance for cover drive with that leg side trigger movement shuffling around. i tried to analayze it really hard and all the time by logic, the batter will just be able to slice the ball somewhere around point from those position but smith is able to play beautiful cover drives which are most importantly technically correct. you need incredible hands to do that.

He doesn't do trigger movement at the last moment so he starts his movement for a cover drive from a very balanced position. Plus many times he hits those backfoot punches that look like cover drives.

I think the answer to your question is just practice nothing else , your body will get automatically inclined towards this shot from that position also,=.

if the news is true that eng can send a 2nd string squad to england due to quarantine issues, then my god. smith will chew them up completely. he might do it anyway but you score one boundary in broad's over whereas you can score even 3 in luke fletcher's over in australia.
